Thanks Sabra for outlining the issues. One more point I want to make is, I love how Terenas Lurkers run their raids and we'd be good to learn from some of what they're doing. In particular, instead of rushing in and just raid, raid, raid, I suggest people make a list of upgrades they can get in instances, priortize them, and post the top two instances that have upgrades. Then for next week and the week after, we can organize gear upgrade runs. My opinion is we can never be over-geared for kara and we should do this exclusively for two weeks before we start raiding, but we can mix in both if that's what the group wants.
There are also a lot of good quest rewards in group quests outside of instances that people should check out. The following thread has a lot of useful information on that:

Well, the bad news - we're not raid locked.
The good news - we did learn from what we did. As people get more and more of the feel of the place, and they progress with gear, things will go quicker and we will get locked in (kill the first boss).

Yup. I'm free tonight so we can do a run or ten. We can focus on Steamvault, since it's short and has two drops for you. Mechanar is a good backup candidate, since it's also short and I think new for you. :)
If anyone else wants to come tonight, post here or let me know in game.
Edit: Weatherine the huntress has offered to help, but she doesn't need anything from SV so other hunters can feel free to sign up. :)

Selendra is Keyed now, full holy Paladin. I've killed Shade of Aran a couple times on my Horde priest, Mandible... so I know the place up to that point pretty well. Oh and of course Chess too, Chess is loot pie. If people wipe on chess, I would say "Wow, we wiped on Chess.. it's time to go to bed and never talk about it again".

Every level 70 instance still has something I could upgrade on. I need revered with Lower city as fast as possible for the prayer book, and revered with Cenarion Expedition so I can do Heroic Slave Pens for the Swamplight Lantern. I really need the Scarab of the Infinite Cycle from the Black Morass. I'll make a more comprehensive list tomorrow, but there's tons of healing cloth and mail from the l70 instances I'll snatch in an instant. Along similar lines, there are good cloth, plate, leather drops from the first 3 bosses in Karazhan itself, which we should have on farm pretty quickly.

A few random comments:
(1) I invited Multanis, a healing druid, to raid with us. He wants in, but may not have set up an account on the Forums yet.
(2) I'd like to again request that at least one raid days be Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
(3) I think we should run with three healers, at least initially. This is based on my conversion with Bleeds who has some Kara experience on another character.

3 healers is probably a better idea than two because you have fights like Moroes where the tank is taking damage, an offtank is constantly taking damage, and the entire raid is taking damage from his garrote ability which he from time to time will put on a player after vanishing and re-appearing. His Garrote does 1,000 damage a tick and lasts for 5 minutes, so it gets hard to keep up with unless you have someone specifically assigned to heal it. It's physical, so I can put my targeted shield on somebody once per fight, iceblock mages can iceblock out of it, and I can divine shield out of it.. but you'll still find it's really hard to keep up with. You also want at least one shackle for that fight, probably hunter traps all over the place if you have few priests. I suppose you could use a tank and a couple paladins to fear them around, too...
Also there are two fights in the opera house which involve boss mobs that randomly, regardless of aggro, shoot 1500-2000 damage water bolts/holy bolts at everybody, the one that does the holy bolts (julianne) leaves a DoT on the player which stacks the more she does it and must be dispelled. In Moroes there are paladin adds which buff the other adds and probably moroes, though I've never heard it confirmed, and in romeo/juliet there are self-buffs which must be purged somehow, so the ability to dispel magic somehow is absolutely required. Shade of Aran randomly targets people without much regard to aggro, too... and when he runs out of mana he sheeps everybody and does this giant pyroblast for about 7500 HP to everybody in the entire raid, so if we don't have the DPS to burn him down we're going to have to survive through it as we did on horde-side, and that requires about 4 healing capable classes. It's possible to line of sight to avoid that, but it's really hard to do that because of the mechanics of the fight which make everybody move around constantly.
So yeah, I've never done it with 2 healers, I've heard of it being done with 2 healers, but ... I'm not used to that at all. I think if you only have 2 healers you need ultra-insane-DPS-of-the-ages.

I should probably also tag along the note that DPS is extremely important in Karazhan, you'll always be fighting through respawns which for the first half of the dungeon will occur about every 30 minutes or so, so we need to be able to absolutely melt through the trash... so to amend my post about healers, I would probably suggest only 2 healing specialized healers, and however many other hybrid DPS classes who _can_ heal, like druids/shamans. A Shadow priest I'd say would also be an absolute must, because the healers get mana back from this guy as he does good DPS, and you can pop one in with melee on fights like the maiden to nearly negate the consecration she has.
Also only 1 tanking spec'd tank, that's all that's required. Should probably be a tanking warrior as he can keep shield block up all the time and avoid any crushing blows. Other off-tanks can tank things regardless of spec, even boss adds.

I'm also available just about any night you want me, just set up a schedule. Weekdays would probably be best for me, but I should be able to make anything work as I just want to absolutely crush raid stuff!
