George Romero, the father of the zombie genre, has passed away.

He'll probably return to do his own obituary as a film soon.

That would be apropriate at least.

Relating this to another thread currently active in the Lounge, in The Night of the Living Dead the hero who remains alive after the nightmarish experience is a black man. In the end, however, he is gunned down by a white posse who mistake him for a monster.
