Reset quests

So, if you hit reset quests, you have to do ALL 4 Acts AGAIN???

Of all the retarded things Blizzard has ever done, this is as retarded as it gets.

Yes, you reset the game back to 'unplayed'. In addition to earning loot quest rewards, increased drops from first time boss kills and the ability to treat the game like it has Normal/Nightmare/Hell replayability, you also receive another guaranteed legendary from killing Diablo again. You may not like it, but there are some weirdos out there who enjoy replaying the storyline over and over.

What exactly did you expect to get from a button that said "Reset Quests"?

I'm confused here. It seems pretty self explanatory to me.

Semi-related question about Adventure Mode in the expansion. I know you have to complete act 5 to unlock Adventure mode, but does that unlock it for that character only, or for all characters on the account? I.e. could I run act 5 on my main dude and then level a new Crusader via Adventure mode?

I expected that if you reset quests, you will be ABLE to do the storyline again, but won't HAVE to do it again to get to the last boss of the last act. Also, this would be particularly idiotic if I weren't able to get to Act 5 once the expansion comes out without replaying the whole game. Still not sure about that one.

There is a big difference between having the option to do something and to be forced into doing that something.

Still confused?

No one is forcing you to reset quests. Personally, with the way Legendaries drop now, I don't think resetting is worth it for the guaranteed Leg off Diablo, even if there are some other benefits along the way.

No one forced you to reset quests w/o knowing what it did. Not sure where you're getting that 'they forced me!' vibe. You didn't have to push the button.

Can't blame Blizzard for a button you didn't have to push.

Some people want it. Others do not. That's why it's a button, not something that happens w/o your intervention.

I reset the quests on my barbarian and was a bit disappointed also. It gave me a reason to finish leveling him though, so it's all good. Knowing that I will be grandfathered into adventure mode because I've beaten the game on my witch doctor is even better. Smile

Yes but the ability to start your game on any step of the quest line has always been part of the game even without that button. You have always had that option.

Why put in a Reset Quest button if it functioned exactly like the button directly above it which allows you to pick any quest to start on you would like?

Having said that, I've never pushed the Reset Quest button. Does it give you a confirmation when you do? If not I would agree that the lack of one is a design flaw and that the option to start from scratch should have a secondary confirmation to avoid accidentally hitting it.

I already explained how it is different from being able to start at any step of the questline. If that's not compelling for you, I understand, but there are reasons. Here is the confirmation window: [Image: 5CHfmdp.png]

It's also an option for the group to do. If you're playing with the same people, and kind of tired of running the same areas, you can use the button for a different play experience. Well-geared characters can re-run the game on Normal difficulty in about 2 hours (specialists can do it in about 75 minutes) and then everyone will get a guaranteed legendary from Diablo. I've found that I'll get 1-2 legendary drops per play session, which is generally between 2 and 3 hours for me; I typically play on Torment1. So I don't think it's worth the additional drop.

Right now the game is at a weird place. It's improved from vanilla, but we're missing several components that the expansion will add. Once that piece of the puzzle is there, it will feel a lot better. I'm looking forward to Adventure Mode and rifts.
