ZF run Sunday the 13th?
#4
Well, I was glad to come along and help out with the ZF run yesterday. I was reluctant to go, being level 60, and I didn't want to make these instances runs for Flash, Shadowe and Urza into an escort, or 'zerg'. But, I was glad I came along. As a group, our average level was about right for ZF, but that was skewed with my 60 hunter along. I know some folks, including PapaSmurf's Dunar are in need of ZF. My thoughts on how it went yesterday, and what I think would be good moving forward are as follows: :D

ZF is kind of the first of the "heavier" instances. Tactics start to play a bigger role than in the past. I think Alram mentioned that he had been into Uldaman several times in PUG's, and wasn't able to complete it. I felt our two biggest problems yesterday were a lack of AoE, which was needed on the temple steps. Our other challenge was a lack of healing. Sharc, Alram's 45 Shaman came, and played main healer, and he did everything possible, but I think he would have liked having Dunar along to help out in the healing. Our warrior was several levels below where he should be for ZF. Ideally, I think a warrior trying to main tank ZF should be about 48. That, and our lack of AoE put a big strain on our healer's mana pool to keep us all alive. :D Seeing as there are more quests to finish in there, I would suggest that Urza try and get to 47 or 48 this week. I also know that PapaSmurf (Dunar) is needing ZF as well. I would like to see if we can incorporate PapaSmurf into the next run, and while I don't mind coming along with my 60 hunter, in many ways having a mage along of appropriate level will be a better benefit to the group. That way, the group could be Shadowe's hunter, Flash's warlock, PapaSmurf's druid, and possibly the shaman, and it would be nice if we had a mage who could go in place of me. Mage AoE will be more useful than a 60 hunter with a super tough cat tank. :P (I wonder if we could bribe Xame to bring Yuri) :P
Having said all that....I felt our run yesterday was pretty good, considering our lack of good AoE. The warlock did his best AoE, but since he was pretty much alone in the AoE deparment, he drew alot of aggro, and being a cloth-wearer, caused him to take quite the beating, which taxed our healer. We just didn't have quite enough AoE to mow down the waves of non-elites on the temple steps. My hunter AoE is wimpy at best, and with a fairly lengthy cool-down, doesn't help much on the temple steps. But, we got quite a bit done. I was pretty pleased. ZF is hard to finish in one run anyway. Any thoughts on a schedule to go back? Flash? Shadowe? Urza? PapaSmurf? Any chance we can go back on an evening before Friday? That will really crunch Urza and his warrior...but I'm just asking for ideas and feedback. Flash, Shadowe, and Urza have been working very hard to get caught up to our lurker group of 55+ toons, and they're about at the point where having 60's come along with them isn't a zerg so much anymore. Any ideas folks?

EDIT: In retrospect, I wonder if this should have been it's own post..... :P Ah..that hindsight stuff.
