Note One: Pearl Harbour was a military installation. That was an act of war.
Note Two: To my mind, dropping a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima is an act of war. It's also murder. Unfortunately, it was what was necessary to prevent extensive further loss of life.
Furthermore, IMO, Dresden is murder to the 'n'th degree. It didn't prevent a loss of life. It was revenge, plain and simple.
I'd also like to point out that we, as a society, tend to like to differentiate ourselves from some of our predecessors. If your perspective holds true, perhaps it's not warranted...? Are you going to justify rape with that same argument? In my opinion, IT DOESN'T WASH. We can be better than that, and we should be better than that. They should have been better than that.
