The escort is right in the middle.
When you go into the instance you have the choice of going right or left. To the right, the first two pulls are two of the toughest in the whole instance until the last couple. (they are all ~5 pulls, but these have more elites than the middle pulls). It is a shortcut to the major quest boss.
Left is easier, has boss mobs for loot, and near where it joins up with the shortcut is where the escort is. If you can manage to do things quickly it's conceivable to finish the instance and come back to the escort, but I think it's unlikely that you would finish before repop unless you had a 'sugar daddy'
