Ok, based on what I've seen here so far let's try next Saturday, May 7 in the afternoon. I am going to set the start time at 4PM and only advertise it as a 4 hour run to get used to the trash mobs and see a boss or two. This way those of you with time restrictions might be able to come. Around 8 or so we will reassess our situation and see if we can bring in reinforcements to go on or cut it short for the time being. If nothing else this will give us experience in how to clean out the trash so that other runs can move more quickly.
I hope that by making this closer to on par with a standard instance run more of you facing finals or other restrictions might still be able to come. My goal with these runs is to get as many people involved as possible, not to burn everyone out in an effort to figure out the whole place in one big run. As much as I love the phat lootz this is not my goal, my goal is to get everyone in for the experience.
So, with that said:
What: Molten Core!
When: Saturday, May 7. Starting at 4PM and going until 8PM (or later as numbers allow)
Who: Anyone who is level 58+. All of our friends in allied guilds are invited including Carpe Aurum, Contra Malum, and those in the Honorables channel.
Why: Fun!!! To get a chance for more people to see the place. The goal of this run is not to plow through large parts of the instance, but rather to get a feel for how to handle the trash mobs and maybe get to take down a few bosses.
Note: If you have not yet done the Molten Core discovery quest (Attuned to the Core) please let me know. We will get that done for you at the first opportunity as we don't want to get caught by the raid lockout bug.
Also Note: I would highly recommend people get both CT_RaidAssist and TeamSpeak. CT_RaidAssist is mostly beneficial to the healers, but whether or not you have it affects what information is fed to the healers in the raid. There are some nasty debuffs in MC and we won't be able to see those easily if you do not have CT_RaidAssist. It also adds a handy assist button that can help with assisting in place of/in addition to any macros you might set.
TeamSpeak is useful for anyone even if you don't have a mic. Generally it is faster and easier to communicate in battle by talking than it is to try to type something out. If you can only listen you can at least hear any directions that may happen during battle. If a response is necessary you can type it into Raid chat. I'm still hesitant to put my IP and password up in a public readable forum but any of the Lurkers currently on teamspeak can give you the info. If nothing else it's fun to hear the voices of real people behind the characters :)
That's it for now. Please let me know if you are interested in attending. In another day or two after I see how many Lurkers are interested I will post something over at the Basin. I hope to see many of you there.
