In short terms though, if internet access is not a problem, the monthly fee is not a major consideration, and you would consider anything close to D2's level of replay a success, I do not think WoW will disappoint you. It has some "arghs" to it, but overall it is a pretty fun time sink.
For me personally, at $15/month it would have to blow a game like D2 out of the water for me to consider it. The beta didn't convince me it was good enough for the extra costs, so I will be playing something else instead.
Right now, my replacement game for WoW is... the original Diablo! :D

Howdy Nystul,
I did do some browsing on the subject, but perhaps I should have checked back a little bit further in the fora. I actually picked up the Diablo battlechest the other day when i was in the store, but decided against it as I was at the checkout.
Money really isn't a problem. I'm going to cancel my Moviepass at Blockbustier, so there is my monthly monies and then some.
So how did you find the beta? What about it turned you off? If you don't mind me prying into your game playing experience. Was it just the cost factor? I know that most of my brothers CS:CZ clan has quit to play WoW, and those guys were pretty hardcore into CZ.
Thanks for letting me pick your brain. :)
