There are two "common" standards for 802.11 wireless , the "b" and the "g". "b" is very slow, and pretty much obsolete. "g" is ten times as fast, and is downwardly compatible to "b" when necessary.
I've seen "b" only routers at give-away prices. $40 ain't give-away.
The D-Link DI-614 is decent, and cheap. Note, model is the 614, not the 514.
