Well, I live far enough away from Portland that I don't have to worry about those East winds. :)

You're right, the rain tapers off in the Spring, and gradually increases in the fall. It's not like a faucet that just turns on all of a sudden (although the first full week of rain always has the "here we go again" feeling to it).

We usually do have some nice days in the Spring. However, this Spring I think we're nearing drought conditions if we're not there already. What a price to pay for the "nice" days we've been having! :(

PS- It's just starting to rain as I type this
