It's only a matter of time before some scoop-hungry journalists either give away a crucial mission by arriving there unannounced, or give away secret troop movements that end in massacre, or get themselves killed along with the soldiers who found it in their hearts to try to rescue them. I believe in freedom of the press, but not at the expense of patriots' lives. There need to be different rules of conduct for war zones - I know there are currently, but they don't go far enough.

Trying to remember here - where was it that the marines made a night landing, and arrived to find cameramen with lots of lights snapping their pictures on the beach? Was that Somalia?
