Sick and disgusting as it is, goatse.cx is an Internet tradition.  Disturbingly, it's hard to argue that it's not a part of Internet culture.  As Memepool put it, "The internet without goatse is like apple pie without the vanilla ice cream."

The internet without goatse is like mashed potatoes without the lumps. It's just not the same without the lumps.

Also, there are FAR worse images out there on the web. Goatse doesn't even faze me anymore.
