I hate to bring up something like this, but with all of the hacks that exist, someone would just come up with another hack to get around it. One of the beauties of clans and the Amazon Basin network and the like is that you can choose who to play with and avoid pubbie games and cheap players.
In the end, what it comes down to, is that you don't have to play with people you don't know or don't like.
And, to be fair, trying to balance any game as complex as Diablo 2 is just asking for ulcers. Especially with all the fun variants and obscure character types.
Anyway, if I missed anything I should have noticed (and I probably did), please let me know: I live to learn.
