Firestorm vs LEBs

I was trying out various characters for that "race" thread, and I figured I'd try a druid with as much Firestorm as he could manage. Got to Rakanishu, fired off Firestorm after Firestorm. Nothing. No sparks, no sounds, no damage. He was definitely getting hit though(hp went down) So, did I stumble onto a relatively "cheap" way of bypassing LEBs for elemental druids? :)
