What better build to master 1.10 with and what better time to show off your expertise?

Maybe, but i've found Smiters require at least a small infusion of gear to be effective. Not that you can't no-twink a Smiter (for a while i played more or less every single variant in the game, and it's doable) it's just slow. It's like if there was a build that relied on the highest def barb helms dropping... just not that effective.

Secondly, and more to the point, i haven't Smited in so long i've forgotten most of what i knew. Besides, i don't really think Smite is my best build (though i guess i wouldn't be surprised if i have the most Smite m4d5k1llz out there) and mostly i don't think Smite is viable past NM without a party anymore- not without a serious dosage of high power gear, at least.

But what the hell, maybe i'll give 'er a whirl.
