I have seen some discussion on my question in the past but I haven't seen a definative answer?
1. Does Amplify Damage cause +100% of damage inflicted?
or
2. Does Amplify Damage cause -100% to monsters physical resistance?
These may seem the same until you consider Hell Difficulty:
Damage Inflicted 100
Under 1: 100 * 50% + 100 * 50% = 100 damage after physical resistance
Under 2: 100 * (50% - 100%), which translates to 100 * 150% = 150 damage after physical resistance
