Engaging in world PvP =/= getting ground into the dirt when you have no chance at all to win the fight.
Personally, an easy fix for this would be to set it so that any player -10 levels of yourself is automatically set to a "sanctuary" setting that removes them from combat. By enabling their pvp flag (which on a pvp server means almost nothing) they are welcoming that type of behavior.
10 levels seems to be a good cutoff. Before 4.0.3, when you queued for a BG, the brackets were 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-60, 61-70, 71-80.
Post 4.0.3, they are even further segregated. 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, and so on and so forth.
I'm all for allowing people to engage in world pvp, but allowing someone to be a loser is just not a good solution.
I didn't roll on a PvP server because I wanted to engage in world PvP. I rolled on my original server (a PvP server) because that is where my friends were that played. I was an utter complete nub to the game. Seriously for the first 20 levels, I thought I had to spam my autoattack key to get white hits, I thought I had to replace gear when it broke, I thought that green gear was used as good as it got, and I would upgrade items based on looks (how cool it looked) rather than how good the stats were, I thought that you had to buy each slot in your bank, instead of buying slots for bags (Yes, for the longest time, I had 1 item in my bank because I had only bought 1 tab)
The only thing I was good at was stunlocking something(one). And I learned to be good at that, because I was using bad gear and shutting off autoattack and had to be good at it to kill something.
I didn't even know what PvP stood for when I rolled. I called Kaine and said "Hey, I'm installing warcraft". He said "Pick the Bloodscalp server, that is where Palpy, vecindak, and I are, and make sure you pick horde".
I still have characters on that server, and I do play them from time to time, and I do engage in World PvP. But, I'm sure that gnome mage I splattered while killing furbolgs in Felwood last weekend isn't as mad as he would have been had I rolled through there on Sunetra and toss an Avenger's Shield in his face, insta-killing him. There is nothing he could have done to prevent that, or escape from that.
I'm not against world PvP if that is your thing, I'm against those who have the desire and want to ruin a lowbies day. My original involvement in the thread was trying to understand why they were unhappy with the situation in WG because it works to balance it out, and make sure that the sides are as equal as possible.
