Hi,
And it hurts when I get emails from people Iâve respected and admired ever since I was a newbie telling me that Iâm not doing a good enough job or I canât do this job because Iâm not an ancient member of the Diablo cadre or my project is not worth their personal information or my project is too rough and simple for their input.
Screw'em. This "community" has been around for over six years. So far, except for some sporadic archiving of posts, no one has attempted to do what you are doing. By definition, then, you are doing the best job on this project of all who have tried :)
Yeah, it isn't complete or perfect. It probably will never be either. Hell, people have been playing with the history of Julius and Augustus for about two millenia, and they still don't have a consensus. But if no one tried, we wouldn't even have what we do. Same for what you're doing.
So, if you get constructive criticism or corrections, do as you've been doing. Use it or not and accept it in the spirit it is given. If you get destructive criticism, file it in the circular file. Those that are not willing to help should at least have the politeness to get out of the way.
