Care to expand on that? I don't see The Unstoppable Force as game-breaking...

Ahh, I was confused about the video. Do some people really see warriors as nerfed and "damned"? IMO "overpowered" is too strong a word, but the class has a definite edge over most others. Arms/Fury warriors are on par with rogues in damage in pve and pvp yet have greater survivability, and represent the fastest leveling class across servers. My beta experience was limited, but if this is the nerfed form I shudder to think of what it was!

Question - did all High Elves rename themselves to Blood Elves? Or was this a splinter faction (albeit the larger chunk) of elves giving themselves a new cultural identity, and there are still a good number of traditional High Elves out there? Guessing from some elf NPCs who don't seem too dark and obsessive about magic, I think the latter...

It's ridiculously overpowered for the way it's acquired. You can easily reach Exalted status with Frostwolf or Stormpike in two weeks' time by playing 2-3 hours of AV a night, a few nights a week. TUF sets you back 125g before faction and rank discounts are applied.

Compare The Unstoppable Force to Arcanite Reaper, which costs a great deal more (20 Arcanite Bars is roughly 500g), requires a Lv.300 Axesmith, and requires a set of prints from a rare spawn in LBRS, and you can see why TUF is so ridiculously overpowered. It is easily the equal to - and before the knockback was nerfed to a stun, better than - Earthshaker, which requires a large guild (or group of guilds) capable of defeating Magmadar in Molten Core, not to mention either a decent sum of DKP or a lucky streak on the Random Number Generator™.

Now that you mention it, it was with Improved Slam that he was BT chaining. Back then, Slam was uninterruptible AND didn't interrupt your normal swing timer.

Not all the high elves became blood elves, but most did. The few that remain aren't much of a force, and I believe Blizz used that as an argument when players asked to have them as a PC race.

Not sure what your source of this information is, but I'm comfortable saying it's wrong.

The RP servers as a whole are VERY alliance heavy.
PvE servers as a whole are also alliance heavy.

The PvP servers are dead even - including the RP-PVP ones.

This information is corroborated a number of places including a variety of CM posts on the WoW forums, the census web site (http://www.warcraftrealms.com/census.php), and the census/poll data I've seen posted on various discussion boards.

If you're playing on an alliance heavy server, odds are it's because the server type you chose trends in that direction. Come... join the dark side. We're all kinds of good on the PvP end of things.

I think it would be pretty epic to have High Elves as the new Alliance race, to combat their "evil" brethren the Blood Elves. From a storyline point of view, it certainly is interesting, IMHO.

Makes you wonder if they'll add the Naga as a playable race (for the Horde, no doubt :P - they do get all the cool races, although Alliance get the awesome Night Elves :D) in the future. :P And if so, who they'll add to counter-balance.

The next time I hear someone say how easy it is to get Exalted with Stormpike or Frostwolf, I will rip their head off in frustration.
Trade yourself in for the perfect one. No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined!

Heh, no kidding. I've been in AV everytime I've been able to when I see it open.

That's four times in three months. Once I spent two hours in Orgrimmar advertising in order to get it open. I'm in queue everytime I'm on for a few hours with a character high enough level who isn't on specifically to group with others.

Compared to MC and above loot, Unstoppable Force isn't too amazing. It's on the low end of the epic item scale. It takes a pretty hefty time committal to get up to exalted with a BG faction, seems a just reward for me.

I can only dream of AV games being plentiful :(. We had our first one on Mal'Ganis since the patch that added AB just last night, and even before then it was a thing you only saw up a few times a week.

I'm sorry it's that way on your servers.

But it is damn easy on any server with regular AV games. They're punishing the low population servers.

Even then, there's the Ice Barbed Spear, which is easily rivals any non-MC weapon for damage and thrashes non-MC weapons for stats. For one victory.

Everyone that doesn't have TUF has that.

How about Lothos Riftwaker? He's the guy who gives the Attunement to the Core quest. He looks exactly like the character selection screenie (whatever its veracity).

Irony:
A person whose highest character is level 37 is looking forward to the level cap increase, while someone who has at least one level 60 is against it.

Amazing. People will complain about anything. "Oh no, I'll have to spend more time playing a game I PAY FOR on a regular basis." The above argument is the most ludicrous I've seen to date.

Now, were it to be released that along with the level cap increase, said new levels would also bring new Talent points to place in existing, unmodified Talent Trees, THEN I could see a problem. I can almost guarantee they'll simply not give Talent points, or if they do, it will apply to a wholly different set of available abilities. Restructuring the Trees for that would take another year or more of effort, especially given that they're still fixing them with the current setup.

The Unstoppable Force is slightly better than a Reaper. I would say The Unstoppable Force is slightly harder to get than Reaper on servers where AV runs all the time (if you can't farm the 350 extra gold for the reaper in the time it takes to get exalted there's a problem imo). But lots of people have an exaggerating disease, so it is now common knowledge that TUF is the best weapon in the game and will let you OHKO everyone, and it only takes four minutes of dedicated AV time to obtain.

Frankly, I only got TUF because I wanted Don Julio's, and it saved me DKP. If it weren't for Don Julio's I would have been content with one of the Earthshakers or OEBs that dropped before I got exalted. TUF isn't even hot stuff anymore, I really need to upgrade soon. There's so many Rag/BWL/Hakkar/Rank 14 weapons in Orgrimmar these days, makes me feel like a sissy.

Sorry, folks, but "we don't have AV much" doesn't change the fact that the weapon is horribly balanced for how easy it is to get.

The key point is- you can solo TUF. You can lose every AV you're in and still get it.

A reaper, which is inferior, end of story, is crafted and at least helps keep the gears of the game economy greased (and 350 gold is a nice low price that doesn't apply to other servers, thanks).

Anything better requires a raid force.

A host of blue weapons were removed from the menu of tolerable arms when The Unstoppable Force and Ice Barbed spear were introduced. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Doomsaw on character that wasn't sub-60, or a Barbarous Blade on a melee.

What passes for good now will be garbage after the expansion.

And it will only exacerbate the itemization issues between melees and casters.

Why would 'the' blood elves be evil and 'the' tauren good? Just like in RL, there are good and evil individuals in each race.

......

Anyone remember the cries of outrage before the D2 expansion? Timers were going to ruin sorcs! People complaining that their best sorc skills were being handed out like candy on CtC items to all classes, and wondering how they were going to kill anything with that weak FO that was now on a timer after the loss of static field!

Then they found out about +skills items and level 36 firewall and mastery.

Oh, and the beta reports saying the game was now TOO HARD because their characters outfitted in the best CD2 gear ever got owned in Act 4 Hell and the drop rate was so low that they never found anything useful.

Last time anyone ever said that LoD was too hard. :)
Nothing is impossible if you believe in it enough.
