Hi everyone, some of you know me and have grouped with me in the past.
I'm here to invite all willing and able level 60's to an Onyxia raid we, Guardians of Elwynn, are planning to do on the weekend of June 4th/5th on the Stormrage Alliance server.
Some requirements are that, as above you must be level 60 and in addition you must have completed the prequisite quests and obtained your Drakefire Amulet, as without this you will not be able to enter Onyxias lair.
We are still getting together the numbers of people who are interested so please post on this thread (along with what class you are) if you are interested in coming along.
We also have additional threads about this on our own public forums if you'd like to take a look, or have any questions.
Please click here to view these threads.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope we can make this a success!

I'd be there, but I have another high-level quest to complete that weekend. I have to meet an elite level 60 NPC named Fiance at Whiterock Church. It's an escort quest down the Red Aisle which is guarded by the InLaw Clan, a tough bunch of mobs that require some serious buffing if I'm to survive. It's good that I've already completed the prerequisite quests to obtain the Tuxedo of Spiffy Looking and Ring of Engagement, given some time ago.
Anyway, Onyxia is a good start to what should hopefully be regular Lurker participation in raids, and I'm glad to see it's getting off the ground! We should conquer Onyxia before trying the Molten Core - it's easier to get a raid for, can be done in shorter blocks of time, and it's something that can be done with perserverance - many weekends' worth, probably, for us noobs - but it's doable.
I think MongoJerry's account at http://www.lurkerlounge.com/forums/index...topic=5709 should be required reading for anyone making the attempt...it could really cut down on the number of runs the group will wipe on if people read up on what awaits them (and make participants be more understanding of the inevitable wipes that occur as they practice).

I should be open to it as Ramala, I just would need to grab the blood from the General before then. Maybe tonight ... *hint hint*
Edit: Okay, I can do Saturday, not Sunday, if I have the amulet by then. Didn't get it tonight :(

I recommend Flask o' Whiskey trinkett for buffing purposes.

As hard as it is for a frost mage to do, I will do my best not to toss any snowballs your way. I would hate for my combat log to show "Bolty is inflicted with Cold Feet". I'm sure one of the local paladins will cast Blessing of No Last Minute Jitters also. Enjoy your day and make sure the party includes much /eat, /drink and /dance. If things get wild enough, maybe there will even be some /flirt and /flap (but no /rude) amongst the guests.
Congratulations, Bolty! Make sure you get her computer set up with WoW asap so that she can get hooked and we can enjoy both of you in-game more often.
Oh, so this isn't a complete derail, even though I would like to see Onyxia at some point, I don't even have a clue what the prerequisite quests are, or how to get the amulet, so I don't think Lochnar will be there anytime soon. Sorry. I hope it goes well.

Where's the poll to wish Bolty Congratulations? I'd make a post for it, but that might be considered double-posting.

Thinking we might try and shoot for a 1pm EST start time (6pm GMT).
The Onyxia key starts with this quest: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=4182 .
There are several steps, but 8 days is more than enough time to get them done.

I would really really like to do this, but I am moving this weekend and the place I am moving to has no phone service set up at the moment and thus no internet. Verizon is supposed to come in on Friday to set that up but I will still only have dialup (A week with no internet and another without broadband, ugh). I have no clue if that will be sufficient for this but I am guessing not. I guess I will sign on Friday night and test it out but at this point I wouldn't say to count on me.

Level 60 Warlock stuck in Jail, waiting for a Jailbreak so he can fight the big bad onyxia. I still have a few prequests to do, but hope to be up and ready in time for the main event. Also many grats to the Bolty on his big day.

Ditto. I am also stuck on the Jailbreak part of this chain.
I heard whispers about that the crew were doing run(s) on Sunday to get this obstacle out of the way. Should be a fairly quick affair.
But once that is out of the way, you have a 60 mage willing and ready to go at it.
Oh, and I also got a pimpin' black hat for the occasion.
Cheers.

Thanks for the replies so far. We're getting a lot of interest in this, in fact we only have about 8 spaces left!

Hm. I'd have liked to be in on another Onyxia kill, but it seems that all your mage slots are filled. Good luck on your run.

I can place you in as a reserve slot, meaning when the day comes if we're short people (which is more than likely) we will fill up with the reserves.

Sure, but please keep me advised (message Rylea ingame) as soon as possible, since I have an invitation to another Onyxia run on Friday the third. Obviously I'd like to go with GoE/Basin/fellow Lurkers, but I wouldn't like to skip that to keep my raid lockout open and then find that there's no space on Saturday or Sunday.

So you're finally finishing up the pre-quest for Mark of the Chosen, eh.
Wishing you all the happiness that Mr. Sabra and I have shared over the last 25 years. This can be really good stuff.
Don't be afriad of those InLaws. I understand they go right down for the Big Friendly Smile with Firm Handshake. Takes combo points, but you can do it, Mr. B.

So what exactly did you have to do for your amulet Alliance side?
Ours requires 5 man LBRS, killing most of the major bosses there, and picking up documents generally near most of the boses, but randomly spawned.
Then talking to our champion, Rexxar, in desolace, some woman in EPL near Uther's tomb,
We need dragonkin eyes eyes from UBRS (raid quest)
then we talk with Emberstrife in DWM...
Then we are to kill several world dragons in: Swamp of Sorrows, Winterspring, Tanaris, and Wetlands.
Each of them have various immunities, and patrol areas with elite dragonkin or other dragons in front of them. Definitely not a solo quest.
After all that, all Horde need is the Blood of Generak Drakk in UBRS...
and turn it in to Rexxar again... who's annoying to find.
So what do you do? Details details!
