Favorite website of all time?

Please post links here, and tell us why the site is near and dear to your heart.

(And please don't post LL or ABasin or anything I already know, although you can of course vouch for them; my motive in this thread is to end up with fascinating new reading material, because I'm stuck at a research terminal for long hours and bored to tears.)

http://www.realultimatepower.net/ - No doubt you've seen this one, but follow the "other" link and then go to "The Best Page in the Universe" at the bottom. Some of it's pretty hilarious (some is a bit tasteless, but, meh...)

Don't forget to read the "hate mail" :)

EDIT: Forgot to add: content/language alert.

Well, of course the Lounge is my favorite site, but here are a few webcomics which are quite funny. These are the ones that I keep on my little quickbar thingie up there and check regularly.

Warning: Any/all of these links may have some harsh language/content in them, so consider yourself warned. Mostly it's not too bad though.

GuComics by Woody Hearn
Great site, updated frequently. Probably more funny to MMORPG players who understand some of the jokes

8bit Theatre
This one is a must-read. Start from the beginning, work your way to the end. It'll take a while, but you HAVE to read the whole thing.

VG Cats
Very funny comics here! Not updated as much as some of the others, but it's really great.

Penny Arcade
Awesome. Just awesome. That's really all I can say about it. The first beginning comics of this site aren't that great, but they just get better and better.

Ctrl+Alt+Del
Great site, read it from the beginning. Very very good stuff here.

The Order of the Stick
D&D fan? No? You'll love this site anyways. Check it out. Also check out The Ninja Story under campaigns.

In my opinion, all of these sites are worth a spot in your bookmarks/favorites.

:D

EDIT: Forgot about this. Watch it. Then watch it again. Then, for something new, watch it again. It gets funnier every time, I swear. Make sure you hear the music.

I am amazed. My very first thought on reading the starter message was of zombo and then I scroll down and the first reply says it. I guess that means it gets my vote as well.

So as to be adding something to the thread as well, here is another site I like alot: http://anissa.org/

I like Something Awful, especially the forums. There is a lot of hilarity contained within (most of which never makes it to the front page). Signing up for the forums was the best $10 I ever spent.

bash.org is also one of my favs. Horay for geek humour!

I don't know what this is but I guess I had it bookmarked for a reason.

The website I visit most often is definitely Google.

I don't have a favourite website of all time. But, here are some ones that I frequent:

The Onion is really funny, very well written. Most of the time, you only need to read the title of the article for the joke. .

As far as web-comics goes...
Least I Could Do is a good one that no one has mentioned.

I'm a fan of Filibuster Cartoons. He's usually spot on, despite his conservative politics.

1. You have to pay to view forums.
2. I have NEVER seen a post on the front page that can even remotely qualify as funny. In fact, the only thing I can find on the entire site I can find that amuses me is "Photoshop Phriday"
3. There are legions of people that think SA is the best thing to ever happen to the internet (much like maddox's site, bleh)

I must say I found the post where a guy made a 20 foot flame thrower hilarious. His quotes were just way too funny. If I find a link I'll send it.

Cheers

Favourite website of all time, with the exception of The Lurkerlounge, would have to be www.play.com. It's got a wide variety of DVDs, CDs, games, gadgets and electronics for very low prices (compared to what one would have to pay for the stuff in Norwegian stores.)

I recently bought the entire Buffy-series for £30 pr season (season 1 was cheaper due to it only being 12 episodes). If I were to purchase this in Norway, I would have had to shell out more than twice that. (That's not an exaggeration. Prices on DVDs in Norway are heinous!)

I also bought season 2 of NYPD Blue and Firefly (another masterpiece by Buffy-creater Joss Whedon) at low-low-prices. I just checked the prices on Buffy, and it seems their summer-sale is over. The price has gone back up to £48, which is fine by me :)

They're also sensitive to our moronic customs laws here in Norway. If a piece of merchandise, be it a DVD box set, a game or a DVD player, is over 200NOK (about $25), we have to pay an additional tax of 24% + another additional fee for bringing into Norway.

Say you order 10 DVDs which cost about $10 a piece. The total price will be well over the $25 range, but Play.com will package each individual DVD on its own, meaning you don't get 1 package worth $100, but 10 at $10 a piece, which lets you under the limit.

At one point I ordered Resident Evil2 for the Gamecube, they were out of stock, so I had to wait a couple of months until they could restock. When I ordered the game, the price was *just* below 200NOK (about 198 or something), but a couple of months later, the currency had changed, and the £17 had turned into 202NOK, leaving me over the limit. When I got the game, I checked my netbank and I saw (in error) that they had charged me more. Now, this was a mistake on my part; I read the website wrong. They had indeed NOT charged me extra due to me being over the limit, but I was under the assumption that they had. I sent an e-mail to Play.com arguing that I shouldn't have to pay the tax, and they agreed to pay it for me. Soon after I discovered my error, and did not have to take advantage of their genereous offer, but it was nice of them to go that extra mile for me.

Some one may have posted this (The Onion), but I like most of the typical geek humor sites of which many have been mentioned.
