Lightning Sorc, synergies and masteries...

Example: Maxed Nova, Lightning, Chain Lightning, Charged Bolt, and Lightning Mastery... Do the synergies apply first, and THEN the damage increase of Lightning Mastery? Or are they all added up together?

Synergy and mastery multiply with each other. That is, if you have 100 base damage, +100% synergy and +100% mastery, you'll have 400 total damage, not 300.

Okay thanks! Another question: If a skill that gives synergies goes above level 20, will it still give synergies per level?

Only the base points in the synergy count. You can't put more than 20 base points in a skill.

So, there's no point in getting +skill items for skills you're getting only for their synergies?

Correct. It won't help at all.
