Okay you can all have a good laugh but seriously im a newb and really dumb--i just installed d2 (after formatting) and downloaded the new patch--there are no instructions on how to install the patch--ive tried searching blizzard.com for instructions with no luck--im itching to play as its been a while can someone please help me--thanks in advance =)

er... assuming that it was downloaded from inside the game, after it completed it should have coem up with a box "click here to restart DiabloII" or similar, autopatched, and restarted the game... have you tried connecting to battle.net since? or did you download form the website.

in short:
you shouldn't have to do anything, it's autmatic except for a few boxes where you only have 1 button to click anyway.

If you downloaded the patch directly (as opposed to logging onto b.net which will download and install the patch automatically) all you have to do is run the patch (it is a program).
