Peanut Butter.
I hate that stuff. The smell of it makes me feel sick.
I also don't like ketchup, but peanut butter is my least favorite.

YMMV. And after reading over your post, I suspect my problems with cheese aren't as dire as yours with mushrooms. I still warn others--beware the cheese!

Artichokes are great! My mom stuffs them with breakcrumbs then cooks them in chicken broth, and that's dinner. Yum.

Okra, blech. I had that once, I think it was at Dominick's Grcery Store. They had fried it and then gave it to me. I bit into it and it exploded in my mouth like one of those Gusher chewy candy things, only it tasted horrid.
Another thing I can't stand is, anchovies. Salty little fishes with bones. I can eat them in a caesar salad becasue they are all mushed up and I can't taste them, but I cannot eat them on pizza, or a Greek salad just plain.

Quote:Mayonaise is a standard with our fries here (Holland) although many abhor this.
Yep, that's how I learned it.
Both my parents were born in Holland, and I have made several trips there (I live in Canada, btw). I love the mayo-fries combo. My mom introduced that to me at an early age.
Mayo+fries is better than ketchup+fries, but not quite as good as gravy+fries (which is a staple here in Canada) :)

While there's plenty of foods that I choose not to eat, the only ones I truly abhor would be ketchup and yellow mustard. I dislike both of those strongly enough that I don't like to smell them, and I can't stand getting those crunchy ketchup and mustard bits from the bottle tops on my skin when I make sandwiches.
Sounds silly, I know, but it bugs me. I mostly like my fries plain, or with malt vinegar for a real treat. Then again, I'd put vinegar on just about anything! My husband can't stand vinegar, but he loves ketchup and mustard. Our daughter likes both, and also sneaks raw brussels spouts in the store.

Ranch dressing is also good on french fries, as well as taco sauce, A-1, and the Gibson family super-secret onion crab dip.

Lutefisk. Tripe. Mayonaise.
The Power of LuteFisk
Having Lutefisk at Christmas Eve dinner was a family tradition when I was growing up. It ended with my parents. When I was 9 and my sister 8, we went without any presents rather than eat any Lutefisk. It was amazing in how resolute we became, as we would have rather faced torture than eat even a bite. That was the last year it was mandatory.

Can't think of much I CAN'T eat, however I do have a thing against cooked carrots. The texture, that sickly sweet taste, and the slimy exterior, whatever it is, I LOATHE them.

Once it's in my plate it will be eaten, as long as it's edible. Blame it on my education ("If you didn't want it you shouldn't have put it in your plate").
Now the only "normal" thing I look at in disgust is... *Drumroll* A fried egg. Yup, I like egg in general, I like omelettes, scrambled eggs, no problem. But fried eggs, specially when the yolk is all runny and liquid... ugh.
The other thing I can't possibly eat, even if I love the flavour, are cherries. One is enough to cure any constipation problems I might have, and spend the day sitting on the white throne ;)

I hate mustard in general. I love putting lots of salt and malt vinegar on my fries or tater-tots. Brussel sprouts are good too :)

Eggplant ( or Aubergine if you wish, but I can't stand the stuff so I call it eggplant ) - President's Choice Moussaka is the most vile substance known to mankind.
Cream of Wheat
Grits ( first time I had breakfast on a business trip in Raleigh they gave me this stuff eccchhhh, I spent a lot of time in Raleigh and Nashville , I love eating in the south but I cannot stand grits)
green peas ( they're ok if they're in something, but alone - ick )
marmite - people actually eat this stuff?
nutella ( sorry Occhi )
cream soda
Zima ( on principle - beer without all of the beery goodness )
Shortbread cookies ( in french - biscuits sables - sand biscuits - they got it right )
Some people are like slinkys, not really good for anything but you just can't help but smile when you see them tumble down the stairs.

careful, brother - you're treading on holy ground. A mayonnaise sammich and a bowl of beef stew in the winter? Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Of course, I eat darn near everything.
EDIT: except sushi. To quote Occi:

I'm divided on sushi: it's not the rawness or the fish or the roe, or the rice, but I can't get around the consistency of the seaweed wrap. I dunno, I just... ugh.
I do, however, absolutely refuse to eat anything flavored with anise (sp?). Including black licorice (sp?) and those "darling little cookies" that suddenly show up on store shelves just in time for Christmas. Can't stand the stupid little things...
On the other hand, I have to say that crustaceans have been highly underrated in this thread. Give me a good half dozen steamed crabs, basket of fries on the side (no ketchup, no mayo, just unhealthy amounts of salt) and I'm a happy person. :D
