4.0.1 fixes on the way

Quote:Rather than try and address multiple threads, I'm just going to plop our current thoughts in this one post. Please excuse the brevity.

1) We think Fury, Arms, Feral cat and Retribution dps is too low and we will be buffing them.

2) We think mage dps is too high, especially Fire, and will be nerfing it.

3) We think Shadow priest dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Shadow Word: Death spam, which is tough on healers. We'll be fixing that.

4) We think Destro warlock dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Searing Pain spam, which is tough on tanks. We'll be fixing that.

5) As we suspected, PvP dps is just too high given that the health pools of Cataclysm haven't kicked in yet. While competitive PvP is over for the moment, we still want the environment to feel better so we will be buffing resilience. This change might be reverted at level 85.

There will probably be more changes after another night of raiding and BGs. Many of the bug fixes we have made today will affect dps as well. Stay tuned.

Quote:Since the release of 4.0.1, more than a few warlocks have noticed that their pets are in fact no longer their familiar demonic servants, and instead appear to be new entities with different names. We’ve been able to pinpoint the cause of the issue, which should be resolved by tomorrow for any warlocks that log in for the first time from then on. We’ve also been able to determine that we will be able to restore any renamed warlock pets to their original pre-4.0.1 names during next week’s scheduled maintenance.

That falls deep into the category of DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH. Especially in light of players such as myself warning Blizzard that the changes to the talent trees were going to make the Season of the Wizard continue to reign supreme.

Watched a disc priest in full wrathful get blown up by an Ele Shaman and a Frost mage through penance and shield. No interrupt needed, just blown up. That's retarded dps.

I don't know what they changed about healing from Beta/PTR to live, but I beg and plead that they don't revert that. Disc Priest healing is actually better than it was before.

Has anyone been hit by the enchanting bug? I haven't on any of my characters, but I guess some people logged in to completely unenchanted characters, and now they say that they can't fix it, and wont reimburse.

What about missing characters? I've not heard anything about that, but 3 of mine are gone (as if they had been deleted).

I was most troubled by the missing characters. On my original server, I have a lvl1 shaman, who had been my banker since... well... forever. He handled all the banking, AHing, crafting, etc.. that I could get done without having to take another character to town with.

I hopped over to bloodscalp to chat with a friend, and he was gone Sad I was really scared that he would be gone for good.

So these changes were apparently hotfixed in lastnight undocumented

Anyone run any experiments to help document the changes?

So far I know:
- Warlock Searing Pain damage reduced "significantly" (no quantification)
- Ret Pally Hammer of Wrath damage increased very significantly
- Ret Pally Templar's Verdict damage increased
- Fury warriors reporting significant increase in damage (~30%) no specifics yet

I'm curious when it was fixed in, as the raid last night mentioned nothing of improved DPs, only of things being 'low'

So far only one missing enchant I've noticed (missing stealth enchant on parachute cloak on my rogue), but I've not dared to log on to all my characters. It was an enchant I'd just put on a few days before the patch. It's quite possible there are more I haven't checked.

I have been feeling overwhelmed by all the changes. I figured I had to start somewhere, so last night I devoted to my paladin, who is my "main" as much as any. I set up talents and glyphs half randomly and went into Wintergrasp. Got the quests done and didn't die. Shaman and shadow priest damage is high, but then it always is in Wintergrasp. Thankfully for her teammates' sake she didn't have to heal anyone but herself. Healbot is broken and the healbot site was shut down for being over quota.

Gradually I am adding back addons to see what, if any, work. The three addons I use for removing bars and buttons from my logs are working, but so far nothing else.

SWBig Grin and Kill shot glyphs are activating once per cooldown.

That is, you get two in a row, then the cooldown.

Another strange thing is the "flyable" macro variable is no longer working in Wintergrasp. Here is my rogue's mount macro that was working fine a few days ago:

#show Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
/dismount [mounted]
/equip [flyable] Parachute Cloak
/castrandom [flyable] Turbo-Charged Flying Machine, Cenarion War Hippogryph
/cast [noflyable] Swift Palomino

In Wintergrasp the ground mount is now always chosen, whether the battle is on or not.

I use Mounted for my macro-creation needs, and the latest build claimed to have fixed WG problems "for real this time".

It didn't. Something's amiss, I believe.

I don't know if this intentional or not, but I now have a reputation bar entry for my own guild. My own, one-man, banking guild.

I'd also like to apologise to the professions pane for my earlier rant in another thread. Turns out that it was just acting screwy and has since returned to normal.

One annoyance that has yet to be fixed is pet health; summoning a new pet or zoning across servers can leave pets with their base maximum, and given the inflated HP values on pets (as well as everyone else) this means a lot of healing needs to be done. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Edit: Hmm, seems that Champion's Purses always "contain" a Champion's Seal along with the 10g, even though the Seal isn't displayed. Unless I got lucky and all four of my Purses contained a seal. If this is a bug, I certainly hope that this isn't fixed any time soon Smile

Actually fixes the nameplates bug. How intuitive.
