Warning: Links to many and large images, dial-up beware.

Well, as promised a long time ago here are pictures of my army. Some of them aren't that good, but I haven't figured out a good way to take pictures of miniatures yet.

I'll start off with my HQ units, aka the models "in charge" of my army. The first one is a Master with a jump pack.

This next image is my librarian. I did a little conversion by adding the shield to his left arm along with the pistol, not a big one, but I thought it'd add a little more flair to the model.

This third image is my chaplain which I posted above. It is the best model I have painted thus far. It took me about 21 hours over the course of a week to complete the model.

The next set of images are the elite units of my army. They are better than the normal troops with more skill goodies.

This is a picture of my veteran squad, sorry about the poor quality of the picture, I'll try to get a better one.

Terminators are extremely beefy units with good armor and nifty weapons like powerfists that crush the enemy to applesauce.

The terminators in this image are geard more towards close combat with the enemies of the Imperium because of the claws on their hand. They tear things to ribbons like no tomorrow.

That's it for elites, Next up are the basic marines of my army. I have two tactical squads of marines and one scout squad.

Here's the first tac squad,

and the second.

Here are my scouts with sniper rifles. I used cheesecloth to try and imitate ghillie suits except on the missile launcher guy. I figured that when shooting one of those you wouldn't be acting too stealthy. "hmmm...pretty bush." *SHOOOF* "hey!"

Last is an image of my entire army.

I don't play the tabletop game, but I imagine I'll pick up some miniatures to paint at some point, having played the RTS and loving several units.

Definitely intend on finding a Chaos Lord, Khorne Berzerker, Chaos Marine, and probably a Chaos Sorceror model at some point, probably after I get a good idea of how I'd like my army to look (currently torn between dark purple on dark red or dark orange on black.)
ArrayPaladins were not meant to sit in the back of the raid staring at health bars all day, spamming heals and listening to eight different classes whine about buffs.[/quote]

Well, after surfing some gaming news this morning, I found that a new DoW expansion is in development. It's calle Dark Crusade and adds space fish (T'au) and Necrons as the new playable races.

I believe there's an unofficial mod that adds the Tau already, and it's not particularly balanced.

Having tons of races is fine and all, but then you're left trying to balance out tons of different races, abilities, units, and all that jazz. You either end up with some races being overpowered (such as tier 1 Imperial Guard, who are quite possibly the best tier 1 race in the game), or with some races being nearly identical (Space Marines and Chaos pre-Winter Assault.)

It's balanced. All other races don't have to put up with the gawdawful mockney unit responses on their tier 1 units.

I preferred the "old" IG responses better. Ironically, the race is perfectly suited to my playing style, but the unit responses are annoying beyond all belief.

When beset by doubt,
Run in little circles,
Wave your arms and shout.
