Greetings,
I have been playing DiabloII for awhile now and also been visiting these forums for character builds, guides and general information.
I really don't have much to say (or type) right now so I will leave it as that.
Regards,
Zzeno

Welcome to the Lounge. We have everything from cryptic humor to downright surly behavior. Useless anectdotes are in aisle 5, rambling off-topic posts in aisle seven - just below the make-your-post-feel-better smilies for your convenience. And we'll even dust off the overarching generalizations for our special guests. :P

"Lurking" is one of the best things you can do here.
I haven't posted, or even read, to these forums in months.
Welcome though, always good to have a new voice around.

Some of us just like to see our names plastered all over the forums.

*Inserts mandatory snobbish "I am l33t poster, ph33r me you n00b with so little posts!" in order to heighten my own sense of self-importance while ignoring how stupid caring about forum status is*
*Leave a possbility for someone to conduct freudian analysis on this post, and possibly come up with something scandalous.
*Insert commentary on whatever post I come up with, I realize that it is simply cliched and overdone; a symbol of a world devoid of creativity. /emo
Welcome. For one of the greater things on the Lounge is not really lurking, but posting. ;)

Hello and welcome. It's always nice to see a new face every now and again. I think you'll find most everyone here to be friendly and quite often witty, if not at your own expense :P . If you are open and genuine, I think you will find this a very nice place to *lurk*. I hope you find it to your liking.

It's like being the new kid in class.
Except the class is really a big, fuzzy room filled with play-pit plastic balls.
And the classmates range from grumpy gibbering gelatinous googleplexes to preposterous, panache-y, pillaging Pancho Villas.
And the school is like a university with different "schools," i.e. the school of whimsical reiteration, the school of supercilious consolation, etc.
And the class teaches the physics of Silly Putty and it's effects on Pop Rocks.
And your teacher is a big Devil that drops good items only after Hell-ish Quests.
And your school Mascot is a WoW.
Well, welcome, because I'm out of ideas.

*Leave a possbility for someone to conduct freudian analysis on this post, and possibly come up with something scandalous. Perhaps not a freudian analysis, but what about a linguistic one? I'm approaching the final weeks of my thesis on online communication, and as Neo only sees the green code at the end, so do I only see the linguistic framework behind every forum post :P
Welcome to the Lounge, Zzeno! It's the best message board on the Internet. Us users have known this for quite some time, but I did a double-check last week just to make sure it was still the case. We're still #1 :)
Let me quote one of our wisest sages:
I've been playing on fora since the days of newsgroups carried over
uucp. "the LL isn't as bad" is a gross understatement Except in fora
devoted to one subject and well moderated, I've never seen another
that is as well behaved and yet permits the examination of extreme
topics. The LL is indeed an oasis of sanity in the asylum the Internet
has become.
I shall donate a banana to charity in the name of the member who can guess who wrote this (without cheating) :)

Based upon the use of the word "fora", I would guess Pete.
Pete and Samuel Alito are the two people I can think of off the top of my head who use "fora", and I hope Alito doesn't post here. ;)
Why can't we all just get along
