That was quite interesting, I'm looking forward to the finished thing although it was pretty depressing. It's always good to get the human face for these guys. Pretty depressing when the one guy said he felt like an inferior species. :(

With that soundtrack, anything is going to seem sad. At least those guys have a roof over their head, they aren't breaking their backs out in the paddies, or having their homes flooded by a new dam.

This is a fascinating subject deserving of a more talented documentarian... but I'll take what I get.

We live in bizzare times. The yuan has been artificially low against the dollar for just way too long.

PT Barnum was right.

The Culture of Instant Gratification, be it cocaine or WoW gold, will always find suppliers where there is an addict. See also Porn.

I am sure the poppy farmers of Afghanistan also get a sense of achievement when they get their crop to market, likewise marijuana farmers.

eBay sales of Dibalo II items appear sane compared to this sweatshop approach to video games.

Fun is where you find it. So is the money of suckers.

Indeed, we tend to forget that the ones we hate are humans, too.

Personally, I've never gotten that frustrated with Chinese farmers. They just don't interrupt my gameplay that often. I get more frustration out of little kids than anyone.

Gold buyers don't really bother me either. I can think of a number of things that I would consider more of a waste of money than WoW gold. It's not like farming gold takes any skill, either, so it doesn't bother me that people have an Epic mount without having to farm.

Getting rid of gold farming and ebay is not #1 on my wish list. I'd say #1 on my list is adding more non-exploitable challenges with significant rewards to the game, especially solo and 5 man. That's why I'm happy to see that Scholo/Strat/etc. are getting lower instance caps with better loot. But that's only the first step.
