Cold Mastery - D2Player69 - 12-03-2003 It's my understanding that in 1.09, Cold Mastery applied its percent of reduction to the target's Cold Resistance. In other words, in 1.09, if a target had 50% Cold Resistance and the Sorc had 50% Cold Mastery, the target's Cold Resistance would be treated as if it were 25% for purposes of the Sorc's attacks. Similarly, 70% Cold Resistance would be treated as if it were 35%. I've heard that in 1.10, Cold Mastery now works as a straight subtraction to the target's Cold Resistance. In other words, in 1.10, if a target has 50% Cold Resistance and the Sorc has 50% Cold Mastery, the target's Cold Resistance will be treated as if it were 0% for purposes of the Sorc's attacks. Similarly, 70% Cold Resistance will be treated as if it were 20%. Is this correct? And if so, can Cold Mastery effectively reduce a target's Cold Resistance below 0%? Thanks, John H Cold Mastery - adeyke - 12-03-2003 That's correct. It can reduce it below 0 resistance, but there's a lower limit of -100%. It won't do anything against immune monsters. Note that items with -% enemy resistance have the same effect as cold mastery and they stack additively. |
