Attack on WoW - Bolty - 11-19-2004 Tonight, Blizzard is laying siege to the major cities of WoW as the beta draws to a close. An endless assault of Blizzard-controlled monsters and bosses attack the cities, killing everyone they meet. They also would turn NPCs and players into chickens, and from time to time Launch them up into the air (fun!). Players fight back, sometimes overwhelming the foes via sheer numbers. I left at one point, and when I came back the servers were off =P Was there anything special at the end, or just more of the same boss waves? =o Attack on WoW - LochnarITB - 11-19-2004 Bolty,Nov 18 2004, 09:09 PM Wrote:Enjoy...my favorite shot: General Marcus Johnathan sitting on his horse - as a chicken.I just about lost my drink when I saw wow74 and noticed the group of school children holding their field trip in the middle of a war zone. Attack on WoW - nobbie - 11-19-2004 Bolty,Nov 19 2004, 03:09 AM Wrote:Enjoy...my favorite shot: General Marcus Johnathan sitting on his horse - as a chicken. And which of the above screenshots would that be? :) Attack on WoW - Rinnhart - 11-19-2004 #64, nobbie. I was hanging out in Redridge when the reports of demons attacking cities started coming in. So five of us chased an orc through duskwood, killed him, grabbed a bird to Stormwind, died a bunch, and eventually ended up in Westfall killing a rogue/rogue/shaman trio for about an hour. They just wouldn't give up. Connection went dead in Booty Bay after a swarm of orcs and cows beat us down. Which reminds me; what does Blizzard have against good ol' fashion .jpgs for their screenshots? JPEG's are lossy -- i.e. they lose image information whereas targa and some other image formats do not. This gives people who want to post high quality images or high quality pieces of images to do so. I've been using Infranview to convert the targa files into jpegs in batches for the stuff I do. It works well. Oh, and the end came at 6pm PST plus or minus a few minutes. Attack on WoW - Wilhelm - 11-19-2004 The end came at 8 PM PST on the Beta PvP Server, so we had some extra time. In Orgrimnor there was an invasion of Stormwind Elite Guards. At the Undercity there was a level 62 elite Giant outside the front gate. The GMs in Stormwind were summoning notables such as Onyxia, The Beast, Cairne Bloodhoof, The Baroness, and other high level elites. They also teleported us once to Orgrimnor. (Fortunately, my hearthstone was up and I esscaped the Orc Guards.) It was quite a show and I salute the GMs for helping the Betatest end with a great event. I joined in the Dwarf push of the Friends and Family Alphatest, so this marked the end of a full year of testing WoW. I look forward to starting the released game I have worked a year to help test.
