Remember Mary Jo - Nastie_Bowie - 07-19-2009 Why isn't the skirt chasing drunkard behind bars? Rest in Peace, Mary Jo. :( Remember Mary Jo - --Pete - 07-19-2009 Hi, Quote: . . .Trolling? Because that's hardly a timely topic, even if it is the anniversary. --Pete Remember Mary Jo - Nastie_Bowie - 07-19-2009 Quote:Hi,Sorry if I ruffled your liberal feathers. If the topic doesn't interest you it is trolling? Try the ignore function, as you threatened. /kiss Remember Mary Jo - Jester - 07-19-2009 <_< -Jester Remember Mary Jo - Zingydex - 07-19-2009 Quote:Sorry if I ruffled your liberal feathers. The fact that it's a double digit anniversary of a closed case probably has something to do with it. It's over, done, finito. Get over it and get on with your life. Remember Mary Jo - kandrathe - 07-19-2009 Quote:Sorry if I ruffled your liberal feathers.Pete isn't a liberal. The topic seems to be from nowhere. You don't explain how you think it is relevant. It seems like what would in any other circumstance be a troll. Pete was giving you the benefit of the doubt asking you to explain how you think it is relevant. Your response to him is belligerent. There are lots of examples of people whose careers seem impervious to the stain of scandal. Just a short list off the top of my head would include; Ted Stevens, Mel Reynolds, Barney Frank, Charles Rangel, Gary Condit, and Bill Clinton. Many politicians have been forced to resign for doing far less than these few. Mel did eventually get convicted of numerous counts after 3 years of denial and then while on his way to prison, resigned, only to be later pardoned by Bill Clinton. Not to mention the seemingly endless iceberg of DC officials who don't pay their taxes. Ed Kennedy's "traffic accident" might be seen as worse than Bill Janklow's car crash in 2002. Sometimes an accident is determined to be an accident, and sometimes it is manslaughter. Go figure. Remember Mary Jo - Occhidiangela - 07-21-2009 Quote:Pete isn't a liberal. The topic seems to be from nowhere. .Niot rreally. A dipstick I saw on CSPAN, when they voted the Health Care plan out of committee, was named Dodd. (The leading political lying piece of offal at the microphone). Following him was a pit bull bitch who foamed (some "ski" Senator from somewhere) at the mouth over how the Republicans were all evil for not voting her way in committee, Dodd spent seven or eight separate phrases evoking the name of oh the most Holy of fat and drunken Senators, Ted Freaking Kennedy, as the father and inspiration, of said bill. He could not verbally fellate Teddy-the-Drunken-and-Not-JFK-the-sainted-one-Senator enough. It is Timely As Hell, if you pay attention. Mary Jo, on the other hand, was a bit of a groupie, who was most likely trolling for political dick. Not someone I'd hold up in any way as a shining symbol of who the more ridiculous of the Democrats abuse (the Repubes use and abuse a different sub set) for political gain. That would be the black, and coming soon to an election precinct near you, the Latino vote. She was begging for it. It Got Her Killed. Not fair, no, not in the least, but it's what you get when you go chasing after political dick and take risks you probably should not have taken. Her roll of the dice came up snake eyes. She missed her saving throw against "I am stupid enough to chase after a drunken pol who is married and wants to jump my bones but it isn't dangerous to me." Sorry, Mary Joe, but that 1 is on the isodecahedron for a reason. Occhi Remember Mary Jo - Jester - 07-21-2009 Quote:It is Timely As HEll, if you pay attention. What does this have to do with Chappaquiddick? -Jester Remember Mary Jo - Occhidiangela - 07-21-2009 Quote:What does this have to do with Chappaquiddick? That Ted Kennedy is still a current topic, thanks to Dodd evoking his most holy and drunken name. He is trying to get a free pass, through his handlers, due to his rather hasty brain malfunction, of late, but some of us don't have any use for dead weight. Remember Mary Jo - kandrathe - 07-21-2009 Quote:Niot rreally.Well, had that been said, then I would have understood the context. :) I remember back when only some politicians were known criminals, not the majority of them. Do we really have to dredge up a scandal from four decades ago in order to... what? Judge his opinion of health care? What's next, the Watergate thread? Maybe we should start one on the Teapot Dome? This is *ancient* news. Maybe it still matters to you, but it's certainly a dry stone as a topic. -Jester Remember Mary Jo - Occhidiangela - 07-26-2009 Quote:Ted Kennedy has been alive and legislating for nearly half a century. Do we really have to dredge up a scandal from four decades ago in order to... what? Judge his opinion of health care?Maybe you don't understand: Ted Kennedy blew his shot at being president by getting drunk and driving himself and that young lass into the water. She didn't manage the emergency egress as well as he did. It was written off as "just one of those things." It's called "a free pass." In other news, Gary Hart just got caught messing about with Donna Rice and he didn't get a free pass. Ms Rice didn't die as the result of her association with a political big wig. The Health Care Bill was presented out of Committee in the Holy Name of Fat and Drunken Ted by the Chairman Dodd. Ted has been trying to bring big ticket socialistic habits to America for about 40 years, or basically ever since his brother RObert was shot trying to do the same thing. Occhi Remember Mary Jo - Jester - 07-27-2009 Quote:Maybe you don't understand...Clearly not. Drawing a line from a 40-year old scandal involving a car accident, a drowned woman, and a spoiled rich kid to current bills for socialized heath care seems... a stretch. But I guess I just don't get how it's all connected. Or something. -Jester Remember Mary Jo - Zingydex - 07-30-2009 Quote:Clearly not. A decades-old drunken escapade is completely irrelevant to anything in the present day, newsworthy or otherwise. Remember Mary Jo - kandrathe - 07-30-2009 Quote:That's just it, it's not connected. Yeah, and Laura Bush literally killed a man but no one brought it up during W's campaigns. Why? It's really not pertinent to anything.
