I will very likely try to do some class breakdowns but this list was simply a starting point for people to compile their own shopping list for their toons.

All 3 of the Onxyia head-turn in rewards have fire resistance:

Another trinket is the Hyper Radiant Flame Reflector, made by engineers (18 FR).
I didn't see any wands listed but the Crimson Shocker (random MC drop) has 10 FR.

No offense, but this is just the start of a FR gear list. The MTs is the only one who needs to go all out on FR, everyone else needs to try to get gear with FR + stats, with most guilds saying 100+ for ranged and 150+ for melee. Your list does not inform shaman that the black dragonscale gear is useless, for example.
So it needs to be broken down by class, not by armor type. I've already done this for shaman, it is quite lengthy, but I will post it on request.
Also, for the crafted items it would be nice if you indicated which ones require core mats.
And you forgot the epic set pieces.

Yes I forgot to mention that I was looking at stuff that you could with crafting (even if they take MC mats) and without needing to get drops in MC or from Ony. It is possible to buy (though it's expensive) the mats that drop in MC to make some of the crafts.
It's also not all that hard with everything linked for a class to look at the stuff they can wear and target it out. Sure I could break it down by class but people can do that on their own too.
I also intentionally left out 2 handers because generally a one hander and shield or off hand will be better but I should add them in for completeness as well.

Well, like I said its a start... but not the end. A shaman has to look at the cloth, leather and mail to find items with spi/heal/int. A pally needs to look through all of the armor to find what he wants. It goes searching on thott -> this list -> class specific list of items you can get in a small group, with an awareness of the better items that might come from 40man stuff. If this wasn't such an alliance heavy bunch I'd post my fairly comprehensive list. I'd love to see people from each class post a list, especially since my lock and druid will be needing it soon.

To be optimised here and easy available to any guild doing MC/Ony, would be an Onyxia cloak (22FR with enchant) and felheart horns (10FR + 20FR from libram), which would help lots statswise, so that I could change some gear back for +dmg gear. Add to this the ability to use a felhunter if you are demonologist, and you will get another +60FR.

General Fire Resist Guide
Based on the tables, against a level 50 mob, every 10 points of fire resist gear gives you 3% damage mitigation. This scale is linear. However, the complete resist scale is not linear. In order to increase your chance to completely ignore fire damage, you need a lot of FR. For example, if you manage to get your FR gear to 190, with a Pally buff you will have 250, giving you a 25% chance to completely resist the spell on top of a 25% chance to resist all damage from it. If everyone has 190 FR gear, almost half of Ragnaros' damage will be gone.
Really Easy Stuff for Any Class!
If you do this, you will have:
15 FR Ring
15 FR Neck
10 FR Trinket
8 FR Trinket
10 FR Bracers
for a total of 58 FR!
You should do ALL of the following:
Hydraxian Waterlords Quest
The Hydraxian Waterlords live on an island in the southeast of Azshara (use Thottbot for map and exact coordinates). The first two quests you get involve killing plagued elementals and stone elementals. They are easily soloed. Then you must kill one of each of the early trash mobs in MC. The next quest is to gain faction with the Waterlords by killing MC mobs and bosses. After this you must kill and collect the hands of several MC bosses. You will then be able to get water to douse the flames in MC and you will be given access to a chest where you can take one of the following FR rings:
Ocean's Breeze: 7 AGI, 4 STR, 4 STA, 15 FR
Tidal Loop: 4 STA, 7 INT, 4 SPI, 15 FR
Onyxia Key and Ward of Elements
This is a loooong quest line. It's not necessarily "easy", but you're going to have to do it eventually anyway, so why not do it now? I'll update it later or link to a better guide on how to do the quests. The key you end up getting is actually 15 FR necklace and is pretty key (get it?), because it also has 10 Stamina, which is pretty good for any class. Along the way, you will have to complete the Jail Break! quest, which gives you Ward of the Elements, a +8 to all resist trinket.

Dire Maul Trinket (Royal Seal of Eldre'Thalas)
Your Rare class book drops off of all bosses in Dire Maul. Turning it in to Lorekeeper Mykos in the Library at DM North will give you a trinket with 10 FR and a class-specific benefit, which honestly probably isn't that good, but hey it's a Trinket slot.
The best way to farm this appears to be running 5 man DM East groups repeatedly. The book is BOE, so if you get one your group can't use, send it to VGRaidbank, and they can distribute it to someone who does need it.
Lord Incendius
Every time you kill Lord Incendius he drops one of the following BRACERS:
Incendic Bracers (45%) Uncommon Cloth, +14 FR, no stats
Cinderhide Armsplints of x (12%) Rare Leather, +10 FR, random stats
Emberplate Armguard of x (12%) Rare Plate, +10 FR, random stats
Flameweave Cuffs of x (12%) Rare Cloth, +10 FR, random stats
Pyremail Wristguards of x (12%) Rare Mail, +10 FR, random stats
Look at that! I have to be believe that, much like baby seals, Lord Incendius exists solely for us to kill and wear things off his dead body.
The random stats can be:

To farm Incendius:
Enter BRD with a group of 3-10 people. Take a left, and open the Shadowforge Gate with the key or a Rogue (a.k.a. Lockbot). Head toward the Shadowforge Highway, taking a right. You may have to pull a fire elemental, and either soothe or engage one group of 5 Dark Iron Dwarves. After this, you can avoid all mobs if you are careful. Head straight across the highway to a stone wall and turns left with the highway. Hug and follow this wall until you see a pathway through the wall straight ahead of you. Go in and follow the hallway. You do not have to kill any of the fire elementals except the last 2. Kill Incendius, loot, and repeat. Takes about 5-10 minutes per run including leaving the instance and resetting the group. Fringe benefits of this run include 2-3 Dark Iron every other run or so, right on the edge of the Highway, lots of Dark Iron Residue from Dwarves, elemental Fires and Heart of Fires from the Fire Elementals, and lots and lots of disechanted shards and dusts from the drops you don't want.

Head of Onyxia
After killing Onyxia, the point leaders always roll on Onyxia's head. Turning this into Stormwind will get you one of the following FR items:
Dragonslayer Signet: (Ring) 12 INT, 6 SPI, 12 STA, 10 FR, +1 crit spells
Onyxia Tooth Pendant: (Neck) 12 AGI, 9 STA, 10 FR, 1% hit, 1% crit
Onyxia Blood Talisman: (Trinket) 15 FR, 1% parry, 12 DEF, 5 HP every 5s
Unless you are heavily crit build and can't find a better crit necklace, I would strongly recommend you get the ring or trinket, since the Onyxia key already has 15 FR.
When Smokey Sings, I Get Violent
An Argent Dawn Gnome will give you a quest that says:
"Smokey LaRue wants you to get 2 Thorium Bars, 1 Golden Rod, 8 Hi-Explosive Bombs, and 8 Unstable Triggers.
You will have to find a blacksmith and an engineer for these items."
Once you do this, he will tell you:
"Travel to Plaguewood, northwest of Light's Hope. Destroy 8 Scourge Structures by using Smokey's Special Compound at the Mark of Detonation planted inside each building. Smokey has had the Ziggurats and Slaughterhouses marked.
Once you plant the bomb, leave the building and marvel at your handiwork.
By the way, Smokey's Special Compound is rather... unstable."
I haven't done this yet, but supposedly, you can blow up the same Ziggeraut 8 times to complete it. Ziggerauts are easier to get into than Slaughterhouses, and are only guarded by an elite. If you can't solo him, you can run past him, die and res, kill the non-elites inside, and blow up the Ziggeraut from inside twice before respawns. Repeat 4 times, and you will get a 9 STA, 10 FR Cloak ripe for enchanting with Argent Dawn to be 17 FR.
Cheap Auction House Items for Any Class
These items sell on the AH from anywhere between 5g and 80g depending on the level of understanding of supply/demand economics of the seller. It doesn't hurt to search the AH every day for these things.
x Ring of Fire Resistance
The x basically determines how much FR you get. Since you already did Hands of the Enemy in Azshara, you already have one 15 FR ring, so this can be your second if you can't find a better one.

Gnollguy's list is very good, because it is a useful resource for guilds starting out in Molten Core. Not for members of so-called über-guilds which are farming MC.

Actually you dont need any fire resist gear for starting MC, it helps to have you main tank with high resist gear, which can be aquired by crafting dark iron stuff (mostly for firelords at the beginning). This can be done with the mats of your first MC runs. You wont be needing good FR gear until lava packs (halfway through MC), and probably not even there all classes need it. Where you really need FR gear is at Ragnaros, but when you get there you will have done MC some times already, so it helps to have the epic gear in the lists.

I agree wholeheartedly. I always send a friendly whisper if we've got someone new to the MC runs with us who's wearing his fire resist gear at the very beginning. It's simply not needed until the flame packs, and even then some classes can stay out of harm's way.

Dead wrong. When it comes to the fight with Rag-OH-NOES!, FR in high amount is necessary for ALL meleers (Warriors, Rogues, and crazy Paladins). Another class that really needs high FR for the later half of MC is the Warlocks on the Lava packs because if one of the Warlocks that is assigned to Banish duty on the Lava Elementals get Pyroed and doesn't resist, there's a very good chance that said Warlock is dead as the Lava Elemental beats the living crap out of them or the Lava elemental starts running all over the Raid until the Warlock comes out of the Pyro 5 seconds later. Also, healers with high FR during the Packs also helps considerably for the same reason as the Warlocks, getting Pyroed could cause the MT or OT to die and then you have a Flameguard or Firewalker loose in the Raid. Likewise, for the fight with Vaelstraza the Corrupt in BWL, having extremely high FR for everyone is a big, big plus along with the later bosses in BWL.

Many guilds can down Rag following a similar strat on FR to the one I just described. Our guild alliance just broke up, but the bigger guild in it got Rag the next week with just such a strat.
If you want a productive discussion, put numbers to it. For example, would you really have your healers take off their Seal of Archmagus in favor of green ring of 17 fire resist for lava packs? For Rag? What if they had 200 FR already? What if they only had 50 if they put on the seal?

Ragnaros has two types of knockback, the one the MT's max their FR for, and one that randomly targets a mana user and knocks back everyone in a 15 yard radius of them (both can be all or nothing resisted with FR). You really don't want to see half your rogues and warriors floating in the lava because a Paladin insists on being "crazy".
If you keep mana users away from your melee, and the tank/melee aggro situation is under control, they only need FR for the lava splashes and Sons. 150-200 FR is ample for that purpose, IMO.

High amount is 200+ unbuffed. The classes I listed with that high of a fire resistance make it a lot more likely that raid progresses smoothly. With the listing of what you gave means that raids will have a lot more difficulty or will limit exactly who in the raid can do what. For Rag-OH-NOES alone, if you don't give the other meleers high amounts of FR, it as good as not having them their as they will take too many healing resources when they shouldn't be (a dead player brings nothing to the run, a player that is alive and takes little in the way of healing resources means the raid has a better chance). Likewise, when it comes to the Lava Packs, anytime the Warlocks or the Healers end up stunned due to the Pyro, it's bad for the Raid, so having them resist these kinds of things makes it more likely for the Raid to have little problems while having little in the way of FR for said classes means it's potentially more likely to wipe or potentially lose most of the raid.
