I am getting some weird CC'ed emails - DeeBye - 06-08-2006

The first one showed up about three weeks ago. At first I figured it was some sort of spam attempt so I moved it to my trash folder in gmail.

On one hand I want to email mizzima.com and let them know that I am not, in fact, the editor -- but on the other hand I want to continue receiving these crazy emails.

Ahh. So this is why our IT staff have become militant about using the statement about misdirected mail at the bottom of everyone's sugnature file. Makes me wonder sometimes about those unscrupled internet types who go about posting priveledged information for all to see...:P

But seriously, if you were not directed to notify the sender, or destroy the contents, you are under no legal responsibility to notify them to cease and desist, or even let them know they're wrong. On the other hand, if you initiate contact posing as someone else, then you may have the the Burmese authorities show up at your new house and clap you in irons for fraud
