So Sick Of TPPK! - Taem - 11-15-2007 You can read about my experience here: Battle.Net Forums Quote:This is the 3rd time I have had someone TPPK me in Hardcore, 1st time was from a Druid using that hurricane type spell, 2nd time with a sorceress using fireball, and this last time, I don't even know what the heck killed me. I don't cheat or use hacks, but I'm feeling cornered into using some type of "chicken" alternative to getting TPPK'd all the time. Is this how the game was meant to be played? To have to use a program to protect yourself to survive hackers? I really don't understand why you, Blizzard, can't make ALL skills go dead on hostile, like was done with Guided Arrow; what gives? Is there a reason to allow these griefers on Battle.net? Haven't you received enough revenue from WoW to write a small patch to fix this issue? And the funny thing is, if I do decide I had enough and used a program simply to "protect myself," I'll probably end up getting banned?!? If this is they way you do business Blizzard, I don't think I like it! Why is this the third time I have been killed in the last 2-weeks from TPPK? There was even a script the last two time I was killed saying something to the effect of, "Dead_Meat_XX was just TPPK'd by xxxxx." Why do you allow this to go on in Battle.net Blizzard? Will you restore my character's that were TPPK'd in hardcore? Is this how you deal with WoW, or are WoW customers give "special" privileges because they are monthly subscribers? Will you restore my dead paladin: DryIce_MEAT? It was suggested to me that I play with those from the Amazon Basin, however I have two problems with that: 1) I need sponcership and don't know or play with any of them (at least, none that I know of) 2) I really have no chance to get to know any of them because I only play for around 2-hours or, about 4-days a week when I get home from work with my eldest son, who is 11. I am mostly playing with his characters and sometimes his friend. I desire nothing more than to play in a community of non-cheaters for my son and I, but on my time, not theirs. I barely have time to post here, how am I suppose to get to "know" these people? I think I was actually accepted into the basin years back, but I registered today on the forums and there dosent seem to be any info on me in their database. Oh well, it was a nice dream. So Sick Of TPPK! - librarian - 11-15-2007 Heiho, you don't need to be a Basin member for joining Basin games, AFAIK. You must be a registered Basin forum user however, but I think indeed that's done already years ago ;-) http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/in...p?showuser=6808 So feel free to log into the Hospitality Suite http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/in...p?showforum=115 or the Meeting Place http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/in...hp?showforum=41 which is actually co-moderated by ShadowHM, who you could know at least virtually from here. Check out the basic rules there http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/new_to_basin_play_q.php and I'm sure you'll meet some folks there to share gameplay and fun with. I know from own experience about the difficulties a casual gamer may have joining bnet randomly. I've chosen to skip bnet activities some time ago, for pretty much similar reasons. But I think the Basin D2 community is still alive. There are more still active players around than here. If blizz would thoroughly want to protect honest players they'd have to rewrite some big chunk of game and/or network code. I think this would be bigger work, in fact, than writing patch 1.10 was. And I doubt that'll happen in our time. So Sick Of TPPK! - ShadowHM - 11-15-2007 Just to add my two cents to what librarian has so obligingly laid out for you: The Basin is a haven for cheat free cooperative play. :) So do the suggested reading, make your application for WT access and then enjoy the company of like-minded players. :) So Sick Of TPPK! - Archon_Wing - 11-16-2007 Meat, assuming you play USwest/ladder hardcore, I am on a bit, and can help you transfer items/quest/whatever. TPPK has unforunately rendered pubbie hc unplayable [there are almost no games on the list beyond normal mode], and it's quite sad since helping random people can be fun but you have what I think is a small minority ruining it for others. It would be recommendation to only join public games for trist runs, and possibly trading some low and mid level items. So Sick Of TPPK! - Taem - 11-19-2007 Quote:Heiho, Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely going to look into that. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but I really haven't had any time to post until today, much less play D. As you can see, I don't have a lot of time on my hands. So Sick Of TPPK! - q4m - 11-20-2007 I've been a Basin member for a very long time now Meat...you'll definitely find what you're looking for there. I haven't played d2 for a long while, but I know there are plenty that still do. I played for years on west HC in basin only games and loved every minute of it. Great people there:) |
