Fellow achievement whores - Sir_Die_alot - 10-21-2008 Now that the patch has been out a week I'm wondering what people have gotten their achievement scores to and what they have over achieved. For instance I'm at 3055 and my "Tasts Like Chicken" foods eaten almost triple the required 50. Also some suggestions on some I found to be a pain: Well Read: Visit Sholomance and SM library before anything else. That will get you about half done. If you're horde get The Guardians of Tirisfal from a cleared Karazhan not Stormwind. Happy Hour Somewhere/Tastes Like Chicken: Mage food/water counts. Questing: There is a new tracking option for low level quests. Don't overlook delivery quests that would normally not give you any significant rep or experience, there are usually 2 or 3 steps and each step counts as a quest. First time I did this, it surprised me. Second time I did this, I discovered that it takes about 66 yards worth of falling for the cast time to complete, and I was exactly 65 yards above the ground:D I was 88/90 for the To Hellfire and Back achievement, and FYI, the new prereq to the Hellfire Fortifications daily (Which grants a PvP trinket for completing it and doesn't count as a daily) counts as a quest. As for the last quest... There was that escort quest I left near Falcon Watch purely on the prejudice that it was an escort quest. But hey, it was designed for about level 62-63, and a level 70 hunter with an awesome tanking pet should be able to do it easily, right? We hadn't gone much further than the cave where I found that miserable blood elf when an Alliance party of three comes storming by on their mounts, with a pack of Arakkoa in hot pursuit. I think you can tell where I'm going with this... The blood elf then charges off after the Arakkoa, and catches up with them (And the Alliance party) on the doorstep of Falcon Watch, where the Alliance have decided to kill the birdies rather than just carry on running to reset them. Their paladin Consecrates the pack, which is now joined by my Thunderstompin' Pongo and the elf, which causes them both to turn on the Alliance, which in turn causes the warlock's Felguard to turn on my pet. Fortunately, we both call off our respective pets before any serious damage is done. But the elf carries on pounding the paladin, who is more confused by this situation than anything. The elf is doing pretty weak damage to the pally, but simply won't let go of aggro no matter where the paladin runs, which in turn means I'm following them both uttering vile threats at the elf. Fortunately, when the pally comes close enough to Falcon Watch (ie, close enough to aggro the guards) my escortee decides that things are all right and then promptly runs back to the point where she picked up the pursuing Arakkoa pack: Right back near the start of the entire escort path. ............................................________ ....................................,.-...................``~., .............................,.-...................................-., .........................,/...............................................:, .....................,?......................................................\, .................../...........................................................,} ................./......................................................,:`^`..} .............../...................................................,:........./ ..............?.....__.........................................:`.........../ ............./__.(.....~-,_..............................,:`........../ .........../(_....~,_........~,_....................,:`........_/ ..........{.._$;_......=,_.......-,_.......,.-~-,},.~;/....} ...........((.....*~_.......=-._......;,,./`..../............../ ...,,,___.\`~,......~.,....................`.....}............../ ............(....`=-,,.......`........................(......;_,,- ............/.`~,......`-...............................\....../\ .............\`~.*-,.....................................|,./.....\,__ ,,_..........}.>-._\...................................|..............`=~-, .....`=~-,_\_......`\,.................................\ ...................`=~-,,.\,...............................\ ................................`:,,...........................`\..............__ .....................................`=-,...................,%`>--==`` ........................................_\..........._,-%.......`\ ...................................,<`.._|_,-&``................`\ Just because you're one step away from finishing an achievement doesn't mean it's going to be easy. Dismount on to the floor level there, not the raised ramp where the elevator is. Or, jump off Scryer rise beside the elevator so that you land on that lower floor level, not the ramp. Mages can ice block, pallies can bubble off Aldor. Slow fall/Levitate need not apply. Para cloak works, too, from what I hear. Miss slightly, you'll take 99.9% damage but you still get the achievement.:) Fellow achievement whores - Ynir - 10-21-2008 Spangles was the Bomb at the Solarian fight, and got the achievement on the way down. Just before she met the ground, she popped her parachute. She landed safely at the Aldor Bank, but got no achievment credit whatsoever. Actually that was the second try. The first time she applied windfury instead.
