Adventurers in Breakfast - Nystul - 04-10-2012 So it has been a while since my last attempt at Serious Inspirational Poetry, but I think this one might have a chance at winning the Nobel Prize thingy: Aventures in Breakfast By Brian Waggoner {This is based on a True Story} {Except that None of It Happened} {And All of the Names Have Been Changed} {Except Chuck's} There once was a man named Chuck And he is hungry for an orange. So he says "Hey man, get me an orange!" But I can't even find a rhyme of an orange. Errr, I meant a *rind* I've yet to find, Of an orange. Then Chuck says "Make that an orange and porridge!" I say "For oranges and porridge, I may forage the storage." "Don't ignore this, Boris!" Chuck says with a flourish. "I'm so hongry I'd eat a horrris!" (Forget it, he's rolling.) "Forage the storage for oranges and porridge!" "Make orange juice and pour this for this Glorious Orange Porridge Four Course Gourmet Buffet!" "Then find your way To my hideaway By the bay!" And I'da say... "Right away!" "I'll forage the storage for oranges and porridge, make orange juice and pour this for this Four Glorious Orange Porridge Courses... ..Mr. Norris!" And Chuck says "Thanks Man." RE: Adventurers in Breakfast - NuurAbSaal - 04-10-2012 I can offer some serious analysis: I chuckled. Get it? I'm sorry. take care Tarabulus RE: Adventurers in Breakfast - Bolty - 04-10-2012 This is far too high-brow for the Lurker Lounge. RE: Adventurers in Breakfast - RTM - 04-10-2012 I'm not a huge fan of poetry, so it takes an incredibly important subject to motivate me to put pen to page. I've written 2 poems in my lifetime. This is one of them: Peeps Peeps are yellow, Peeps are pink Peeps have eyes of edible ink Lined up nicely in their box Like tiny fluffy chick-shaped rocks The taste is sweet, the texture chewy, The outside crisp, the inside gooey But my favorite thing about peeps Is biting off their heads RE: Adventurers in Breakfast - shoju - 04-10-2012 (04-10-2012, 03:16 PM)RTM Wrote: I'm not a huge fan of poetry, so it takes an incredibly important subject to motivate me to put pen to page. Speaking of high-brow, I heard a great piece of poetry a while ago, and it has stayed among my favorites as a meta-poetic commentary on the state of modern personal expression. It goes a bit like this... Roses are red. Violets are blue. This poem is free verse. It doesn't have to rhyme. RE: Adventurers in Breakfast - [wcip]Angel - 04-10-2012 Here's mine Ode to the Ani A flock of ani doth yonder graze 'twixt the babbling brook and florid maze Their bounce brings a smile to men all the while they savour the sight for other days. RE: Adventurers in Breakfast - DeeBye - 04-11-2012 Chuck Norris jokes are lame, but "forage the storage" made me giggle. Good work. |
