I suggest the diabloii.net marketplace -- they moderate it fairly well and it's infinately better than trying the bnet channels.
I further suggest that if you're not familiar with the marketplace, you lurk over there for a bit before posting trades or bidding on items up for sale. Get a feel for how it works -- for example, in the bid section, don't post "I have a ton of set/uniques and gems and stuff for trade, find me online and we'll talk". Post your bid. ;)
The lurker lounge forums definately aren't trading channels, as you are now aware. It's a good idea to lurk here for a bit before diving in, as well.
