Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - shoju - 02-24-2009 Why make it cost gold? I guess I wouldn't complain about it costing 1k gold if I were ever able to just save gold and not be hovering between 1-2k gold all the time. I can understand the gold cost as we are getting rid of the need to purchase respecs, and glyphs, but 1k just seems a bit excessive. Guess it's time to stop farming ore and go back to doing 25 daliies a day... Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - Quark - 02-24-2009 Quote:Why make it cost gold? I guess I wouldn't complain about it costing 1k gold if I were ever able to just save gold and not be hovering between 1-2k gold all the time. I knew I could rely on this post showing up the instant I saw the 1k cost. 1k is nothing close to excessive, especially for something that will eventually pay for itself. I made about 10k gold just from questing when WotLK was released. I've been dropping since then, but only because I've been lazy (stopped Hodir dailies at exalted, little playing beyond raids) and am picking up cards for a nobles deck. There's a new quest hub going in with 3.1, so that'll be another immediate influx with more centralized dailies. Anyway, people who pay attention to the auction house know how to use professions to make money with little actual time spent. If you really need gold, that's where you look. Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - shoju - 02-24-2009 I'm an ENG, and have found 0 way to play the AH for gold profiteering. I might be missing something, but I have yet to find something that I can buy mats / create resell at a profit. I'm not arguing that it's not going to pay for it self. Even if you don't reglyph, that's 20 respecs. Toss in reglyphing, and you are at probably 10 respecs. I made about 10k gold as well. That went to epic flying, CWF, and the wonderous costs of training in wotlk. I also had the thought that I was going to level another toon to 80. This leads me to believe that it will be a while. My play time is limited. My choices are farm for my BS alts prof, Do dailies, Run Heroics, or raid. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong. Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - Delc - 02-24-2009 1k isn't too bad. It may be enough to make me think twice on some toons though. Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - shoju - 02-24-2009 Quote:Sell the ore. Wanna buy some?:) That's probably what I'll do. I'll just sell the ore + eternals for a while, see if I can stabilize myself at a higher amount of gold. Like I said, my beef with the price is mainly because I'm 'poor' for an 80. One night of gear upgrades in a raid and I start to wonder how I'm going to afford to gem/enchant the next piece of gear. I definitely hear you on that - I've not done most of the Icecrown quests on my main tho so I'll probably look at busting out a lot of them before 3.1. Have to have my arms spec to go with teh tank spec on my main. Then I'll need to get my feral spec for the resto dr00d.:) Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - TheDragoon - 02-24-2009 As someone who is also fairly poor at the moment (I just used almost all of my cash to help my girlfriend buy the 5k flight training), I think this is probably about the right cost. It will make sure that there's incentive to not buy it if you don't really need it but, really, 1k gold is roughly 10 days of doing 5 dailies each day. That's really not a big deal. Given how long this patch will be on the test realm, if you started doing even 1 daily each day and saving the cash from it, you'll probably still have enough by the time the patch is released to buy it. :) Personally, I've got 2 DKs, a Pally and a Druid (though only the Pally and 1 DK are level 80 so the other two can earn cash as they level) that will all want to be able to dual spec, so I guess it's time to start saving or doing some dailies! I was buying ore at 18g/stack last night, to my disbelief (generally hovered between 25g/stack and 32g/stack for a good while now). I just had a 5 item upgrade night (4 new BIS items plus one that was sitting in the bank because even though it was BIS I couldn't lose set bonus). Being a JC helped offset the gem cost, but the total cost for enchants? About 50g for the Greater Cosmics I was short and whatever I tipped the Enchanters. Save BoE greens and get them disenchanted. TrollPatrol = ~45G in ~15-20min 5x Hodir Dailies = 5*13G ~ 65G ( I don't do the dragon) 6x Ebon Blade = 6*13G ~ 80G Takes me ~60-80min do complete and that's like almost 200G. -WimpySmurf Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - bonemage - 02-24-2009 Quote:5x Hodir Dailies = 5*13G ~ 65G ( I don't do the dragon)What?!? Yeah, that works, but I look at that and think, hmm do that or have fun and run an instance. :) Of course I'm not complaining too much about it. I will pay for it on Girly in the hopes that my schedule changes enough so that I can raid again. But my 10 or so hours a week was typically 3-6 hours of raiding (well more like 4-8 with the 30 minutes or so before and after) and about 2-3 hours of heroics. I do about an hour of dailies a week. Which will work. Of course I don't reglyph Girly. I keep the same set for DPS and Holy and with dual specs I'd change that. I also don't need to respec for heroics. I tanked 2 and healed one on the same night the other day and was ret for all 3 runs. :) Ret spec can pretty much do whatever you need in a heroic if people want to put in a bit more effort and care for when I'm tanking or healing. I just find I'm on at times when either I don't have the time to get an instance in or there aren't enough folks to run one. So I can farm some gold to pay for upcoming duel-specs and pay for a nobles deck or 2. -WimpySmurf Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - WimpySmurf - 02-24-2009 Quote:What?!? I'm at best a 50% success rate on that quest, and without a get out of jail card on the DK, I just skip it and save the repair bill. -WimpySmurf Dual Spec Feature to cost 1k gold currently - Bun-Bun - 02-24-2009 Quote:Why make it cost gold? I no longer do the dailies on Dag, as he is exalted, I run them on my DK. With more than one high level character it makes sense to get this quest down solid. I had a stack of 19 titanium up and was the cheapest per par price on the AH at 350 bid / 365 buyout. It sat the whole weekend and never sold. Unless the patch shows me something truly amazing to keep ENG, maybe I will just drop it. I don't use the coptor anymore (Onyx Netherwing Drake is SO much cooler), Goggles were laughable at best for plate wearers, meaning the only thing that it is right now is a glorified gathering profession. I'm fairly certain that I could AoE down packs of animals and make better money on skins, or pick up herb and sell herbs.
