Maximizing experience during IM play
#1
Consider the following. You have two players clvl 20 and 21. You are in dlvl 14 there are Gold Vipers. Who gets the monster kill? Should both players take a hit and gain experience, or send all the experience to one player? It would seem wise to me that each team should make that decision based on whether a character needs to level up to fight the next assumed foes. However, there are some times when you need to and can maximize the amount of experience gained.

Here is an example of one situation where the two players are going to share experience and gain together, more experience than the other could have gained even without an experience cap.

According to JG 2.6 experience is calculated with this formula:

base(divided by eligible players) * (1.0 + 0.1 * (mlvl - clvl))

JG 5.2.1 gives Gold Vipers the base xp of 3484 and mlvl 25 in normal.

Our formula filled in would then look like this for each of the players taking the kill alone:

3484 * (1.0 + 0.1 * (25 - 21) = 4877.6
3484 * (1.0 + 0.1 * (25 - 20) = 5226

Since JG 2.6 also states 200 * clvl is the experience cap:

4200 is the cap for the clvl 21
4000 is the cap for the clvl 20

With both players entitled to receive points:

(3484 / 2) * (1.0 + 0.1 * (25 - 21) = 2438.8
(3484 / 2) * (1.0 + 0.1 * (25 - 20) = 2613

2438.8+2613 = 5051!

As you can see If both players get a "hit" on one viper they gain considerably more experience than if only one player had hit and killed it.

This is something that is fairly quick to calculate and can be done each time you enter a new dlvl.

PS: Consider a character lvl 21 and 16 in the same situation. Shared experience comes out to 5638, well above the uncapped max for clvl 21 of 4877.6.
