BattleTag Communication

Probably old news, but I've just discovered today that if a Battle.Net account has RealID disabled, whispering them (while they're on World of Warcraft) from Diablo III won't work. The WoW player won't see the whisper at all.

Since this applies to me, sorry if it's seemed like I've been ignoring you. I haven't gotten any Diablo III-based whispers, ever, unless I was playing Diablo III in those first few weeks. Also, FYI to anyone else out there who, like me, has RealID disabled in their Battle.Net account.

Well, GEEZ! That explains it! I was really hurt, Bolty, you know that? I whispered and whispered and whispered... And I cried.

Yeah, full BattleTag comms won't come to WoW till 5.0, as I understand it.

If Real ID is disabled, the only way to add someone is via their character tag-- also applies in Starcraft 2. You also have to readd them too.

I would prefer it for RealID to be off by default. Atm, disabling it will result in a lot of loss of functionality.
With great power comes the great need to blame other people.

I think it also applies to even same game. I tried whispering you while we were both on WoW without success (I POURED OUT MY SOUL TO YOU MAN). Tried from alliance and horde toons.
