This came up here because it was the first post I saw that said anything about buying MoP, in this case a CE, which I had always pictured as a huge patch, not a purchased xpac.

My deal is mostly this -

I don't follow. Yes, you'd need MoP to be able to make a Pandaren character,

For what it's worth, they have announced that you will not need to buy the expansion to create a panda.
