New version of DRead
#1
I've been saying for years that I'd one day get around to writing updated versions of LICK and DRead, and I finally made a good start. As an exercise to teach myself C# and .net, I rewrote DRead, and will most probably to another version of LICK too, since they share a lot of common code.

DRead no longer needs a configuration file, it has a GUI, so you can select the Diablo/Hellfire .exe you want to extract data from easily. It will also now (Thanks Jarulf!) auto-detect what version of the game it is. DRead can only extract from Diablo 1.07 and 1.09 and Hellfire 1.01. Basically, I can't be bothered installing other versions just to find the offsets for the data, since there aren't many people playing other versions.

It's very easy to use:

Just type in the location of the .exe or click the "..." button to bring up the Open File dialog box. Similarly, select a folder you want DRead to create the files in, then press Generate.

There's a sample of the DRead output here.

Dread is available from here. It requires that .net 3.5 be installed.
