Your post was a bit confusing at first, since at the start:
That sounds like you were complaining about it and I was leading up to see you bitch and moan all about the quest for the rest of your post.  But at the end you come back with:
Which lead me to believe you enjoyed the quest!  I think the epic class quests such as the Priest and Hunter one really are incredibly challegning and really rewarding.  The priest epic is the best weapon in the game for the priest (there's nothing else that even comes close yet) and earning it myself was one of my favorite moments of the game.

The problem with these "epic" quests is they require an item that is a PITA to get to do them. Hunters have to get the Mature Black Dragon Sinew, which some guilds don't see drop for months at a time. Priests have to get an Eye of Shadow, that used to take hours and hours and hours of farming, if you were lucky. Technically warriors and paladins have an epic quest too. But the drop rate on the Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying is so low now that unless you want to spend +2.5k G on it chance are you'll never see it.

I'd love to do an epic warrior quest that didn't require an item of pure chance to start it.
