It may be a hoax, but it has its share of terrible ideas mixed with good ideas that could give it the appropiate "Blizzard Approved" seal. For example:
1. Weather system. We've finally added weather! It'll randomly do things to screw up players for no good reason, and it's never favourable. But it looks pretty, look at the shiny! Oh, and it includes a genius addition too, you can get lost!
2. Getting lost. That's right, you can, when travelling, show up at a random place instead of your destination. Also, there's no "sense of direction" when lost, meaning that a trivial thing like finding where the north is is actually impossible to do. The idea is that you have to find a particular spot in a huge map, because, you know, that's what people like when they want to travel from A to B. We feel that this will add dept to WoW, as people will be more likely to just leg it accross the continent with the now non-existing epic mounts. Heartstones weren't being used often enough anyway. And it's a buff to mages with portals, so it's all good things!
3. Day and Night. The addition is that it's localized, but to compensate the extra work we've decided to make people carry a light source at night, because, you know, Doom 3 proved that people like walking around a game not being able to see squat. And carrying a light source sure adds depth to the game! Light sources are held main-hand only, we want players to make decisions regarding when to see and when to fight. It all adds to the World of Warcraft experience. (OK, so I made that last part up, but it'd be so funny to see).
