This afternoon at our local golf course, I did something very rare during the weekly Tuesday Night Scramble.
I hit a two iron 217 yards, out of the rough, and holed out the second shot on a par 5. That is a double eagle. Our team won by one stroke. Best shot I ever hit in my life, which includes the hole in one I hit in 1991.
Needless to say, at the 19th hole the beer flowed like water in a downpour. I are now loquacious, and my back hurts from all of the slapping it just got.
Still amazed it went in, not sure how astronomical the odds are against making that shot, with my rather creaky golf swing, but they exceed the odds of pigs flying by a few percentage points, I think.
Yay me. *belch*
Fore! On the following hole, I hit a birdie. No, not a two on the par three, but my three iron shot took one bounce and hit a seagull. It lived, but I imagine that left a mark. Didn't he hear me yell "Fore" when I saw the ball going right?
Dumb animals, I guess. ;)
