battle slide show
#3
I was never a slide show, but things dragged down and were getting close them them whenever there was a battle and for some reason I ended up in a large group of players. Actually the first imp battle was a slide show for me. Lucifron went pretty well for me as far as graphics go. I think what you may be running into on the laptop is graphical memory. With lots of players and lots of players being drawn since you are a mage and in an area where they are on screen all the time that you might be running into a situation where your grapics card is having to hit main memory to get textures. I've got a 128MB Ti4200 but I know people with similar spec systems to me who have the 64MB version who have a lot more slow down in raids than I do.

It may be possible to upgrade the memory on the laptop graphics card (it may be a possibility to upgrade the card too, I've done that on a couple of Dell's before). It's also possible that your graphics card is using shared system memory on that laptop. Try upping the amount of memory your graphics card uses if that is the case and seeing if that helps. Upping the AGP aperture size could also help performance if the slow down is from what I think it is.

It's all just zeroes and ones and duct tape in the end.
