Still, I suppose the laser does give them one up on the dolphins. However, wouldn't excessive use of laserbeams underwater make the surrounding waters boil? The sharks would cook themselves.. I'm not scientist (obviously), but wouldn't be dangerous for laser-mounted sharks to attack while underwater?

Water tends to absorb light energy, and to attenuate it. Not a great underwater weapon.
