What I was getting at was that the final release will have more in the way of character building than the E3 event did. There, you were stuck at level 15 with access to a very limited array of items and skills. Just about the only thing I'm worried about regarding Guild Wars is too little emphasis on character progress. Let's face it, one of the things that makes RPGs so enticing is the progress you make with your character. Whether it is gaining levels, finding new items, or learning skills, without them RPGs would not be nearly as fun.
Doing the above with a group of friends is even more fun, and I believe that is what makes MMO's so popular. Remove the progress and replace it with PVP and while it may still be fun, it won't have the same longevity.
Fortunately, all evidence points towards "progress" being readily had in Guild Wars. It will just not create as vast of an advantage for those who have countless hours to throw at the game, at least in PVP.
