I have recently had several friends sign up for the free ipod offer that can be found here: http://freeipods.com. From some browsing I have done it seems like people might actually be getting their free ipods. For instance there is the site http://forevergeek.com/news/freeipodscom.php which talks about the process and getting one. I'm wondering what others here have heard about it and think about it?
From what I have read it sounds much like a pyramid scheme, but yet people have had luck with it so I don't know. Here is what I have heard about doing it. Apparently they sign up and then have to get 5 people to do one of the options on their referral page. The options are buying a specific amount of stuff from some online places or other such type things. The one I hear people talking about is the ebay one. With this one a referral has to signup for an ebay account and place a bid on an item. They don't have to win with their bid though. So thus people are saying that it costs referrals nothing but time and a little hassle (signing up and bidding) and then the person can get a free ipod.
I haven't signed up for it or anything because I am quite skeptical about it and my gut says that it is probably a scam, but I figured I would see what others have heard. Specifically ones like Deebye who are known for finding freebees. So has anyone else heard anything good or bad about this?
