Why?
1. If what you say is true, why bother staying sober, we are all gonna die! May as well go out blitzed beyond reason.
2. If false, you will still be alive, and will have gone on a magnificent bender, which is not always a bad thing in and of itself.

3. It is possible that for this flu, the best defense is a high alcohol density in the blood. (Not probable though)
4. With all of that in mind, make sure to put plenty of lime into the Gin and Tonics you are sucking down: it keeps away the scurvy, if not the flu. :D
